Wasn’t impressed with the coffee. I’ll have to come back and try a pastry.
Today I tried their Danish Cheesecake which I found very disappointing. Its flavor was dominated by the fruit topping. It had no recognizable flavor of cheese. Below the fruit topping was a soft WHITE substance whose TEXTURE reminded me of the TEXTURE of yellow curd found in a lemon meringue pie, which is far from the TEXTURE of cheese.
A while ago, I tried one of their baked products, I was disappointed, but decided today to give them another try. I tried their pumpkin muffin ($5.45) today. It did not have enough pumpkin flavor to be pleasing to me. The on line source called Yelp, with 300 customer votes related to this bakery, rated Ole & Steen "3.9," which is very poorly.
I like their hot oatmeal served from their opening until 11 a.m.
Unfortunately, scaffolding blocks the easy view of this bakery at the corner of Lexington Avenue and 87th Street (it is next to Staples).

I love this shop and location! The staff are genuine and kind. I have loved any food or drink that I order, though my usual is a pastry and cold brew.

5 stars, my daily coffee spot - very friendly staff :)
Love this place! Such a great addition to the neighborhood. My favorite is the rye roll. Dense, dark rye bread covered in pumpkin seeds. It’s so hard to find simple, savory snacks and this place crushes it. Love their coffee: very strong. Best of all is the service, though. They are always smiling and friendly. Give them a try!

I was in the city for a few days and it was the perfect place to buy my breakfast. I had matcha and my favorite pastry was the Savory swirl. The staff was very friendly.

I was craving a chocolate croissant. The server gave me a sample of the carrot cake muffin while I was deciding on a pastry. It was so delicious I purchased both items. It's my new favorite place to stop before work and bring some nice pastries to the office with me.

Get the chocolate swirl and cinnamon swirl. Love them because they have a pie crust base that just puts them over the edge. Also love the cheesecake with mango. I stop by whenever I can to grab a treat :)

Good pastries but prices run a little high. I wish there was a greater tea selection, but I understand this is mostly a coffee place.

Loved this place when it first opened but they’ve raised their prices (despite having been open for less than a year!) and seem to be out of everything I want 9 times out of 10 now.
Excellent place for a good breakfast in New York with a quality-price ratio adequate for the city's prices. Advised!
