Walking in there the smell reminded me of an authentic Japanese restaurant. The staff was great and very attentive but the food was even better. Each dish tasted great and the donburi appetizer was one of my favorites.

This place is such a hidden gem. I’ve been here twice and both times I was completely blown away by the quality of the food. As a seasoned sushi lover who had been to some of the best Michelin 3-star spots in Tokyo, I think this place is truly in the top tier in NYC in terms of the ingredients used, the curation, and the unbeatable $88 price for an omakase. I recommend this place to everyone.

I've been coming to Omakase 33 for perhaps over 7-8 times the past year. I remember the first couple of times having it, the meal was extremely good, and we had fantastic service from the chef and waiter. I was so pleased I gave this place 5/5.
The most recent time I came, I was extremely disappointed. I'm not sure if it was because of a new chef, but the quality just seemed to have gone down.
The temperature of the rice and fish for some of the pieces was wrong. Some of the fish felt extremely cold to eat or did not taste well. The King salmon, my absolute usual favorite piece, was not smoked that well either and tasted bland. I also noticed that the appetizers were served out of order, which was a little odd. Most of the pieces overall just did not taste that good.
PLEASE do not serve us extremely cold fish and train your newer chefs better. I threw up a piece of fish and felt sick later today.

A stunning space, from the design choices, to how sparkling clean it was. The food was incredible, there wasn't one roll we didn't like. Definitely a great date spot for foodies. If you're in the area do NOT sleep on this place!!

We had such a wonderful experience at Omakase 33 last night! They were kind and accommodating when we let them know we were running late, offering us counter seats instead. The servers were friendly and attentive, explaining things and making suggestions. The chef was soooo talented and showed joy in the preparation of each course. THE FOOD WAS AMAZING. Every single course was delicious and interesting. The drink selection was huge, the ambiance was sweet, everything was clean and beautiful. I cannot speak highly enough of Omakase 33- it should be PACKED!!! Still dreaming of the otoro.. and uni.... And everything else!!
