One of the most authentic omakase experiences you’ll ever have in Manhattan. Go late, talk to the chef. Enjoy the originality.

Having lived in Asia, this is to me one of the best experiences in New York!

This experience is perfection. Mitsu is a true master and everyone there is so sweet and caring.

This place is a rip off. Do not go. They are barely hanging on so they are just ripping people off. They should be ashamed of themselves

This is true Omakase. Attentive staff that ensures you are taken care of but not invade your meal. You get to eat a beautifully curated meal and have the world melt away.

The chef is beyond incredible. Choice of fish changes with the season. He selects exactly the order and how to pair the fish. Never have I had omakase prepared with care and knowledge to this degree in the US. From toasting the perch and letting it cool before serving, having fatty cheek tuna, and true hakaido uni which was sublime. This was something special, a must try. Sale menu is extensive and upscale but worth it.

Chef was also extremely engaging and had a great time explaining his ideas and techniques. Cannot rave enough.

I went to The Omakase Room by Mitsu to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday. This was the best Omakase we have ever been too. Each piece was carefully crafted and we enjoyed watching the mastery of the chef up close. We recommend getting to your reservation a little early as seating is first come first serve and being right in front of the chef was a treat. I enjoyed the cozy atmosphere with light jazz music playing throughout. While the experience is expensive, the quality of the sushi and the preparation/service is well worth it!

Dietary restrictions: Asked about any food allergies upon arriving. Ensured us there was no dairy as my fiance has dairy allergy.

Mitsu trades in the traditional. His are not the towering admixtures spawned in this century's native photogenia. His techniques eschew flash and flamboyance.

What you will receive is a course of 12 moments: pure celebrations of the flavors and textures of fish, prepared with a quiet practised dexterity and delivered with the expectation that you will eat it immediately.

Enjoy.
