I celebrated my birthday here, and it was absolutely wonderful from start to finish! As we were scrambling to find the entrance and get there on time, the hostess spotted us from inside and waved us in—such a thoughtful touch right from the start. Mitsu-san is a true shokonin, an artisan, and each item he offers, almost all nigiri, is with such effort, nuance, touch, intention, dedication, and totally delicious. His nigiri has almost a magical taste. I know of no better tasting nigiri in NY, possibly all of the US.
This was good! Some pieces better than others. Was expecting a little more from the chef conversation wise. A lot of the pieces were prepped before we even arrived. Usually this is done right in front of you. The flavor was simple yet fresh. I would have liked just a little more flavor and creativity.
