Great shawarma at OMG. Definitely one of the best ones I had in New York. Very authentic looking. The only thing I’d improve maybe is the pita itself but the meat is high quality and they have a good variety of salads and toppings. I’d also add more types of pickles and a spicier hot sauce. But overall very good.

Everything here was perfect, atmosphere is cozy the service is perfect the lady who took my order was really nice and the guy who made my pita was really helpful. The food hands down amazing it was so good I almost cried eating it felt like a hug from my grandma.

We stopped here for lunch during our trip and we were not disappointed. This little eatery has delicious Donner meat and options for shawarmas as a wrap or bowl. While there are a few tables and a counter inside, during the warmer months there are a couple tables set up outside as well. The portions are generous and everything was freshly made. I highly recommend checking out this restaurant when looking to satiate any hunger.

So im giving 5stars since i dont believe we should punish the restaurant rating for price hikes. Unfortunately I won't be back. I liked going to this shawarma place as I could get good lunch meal for reasonable price. But they hiked their price significantly. Way more than any other shawarma place around. And for about 30$ (same price) I can get a dish at Via Carota. nearby and enjoy a true restaurant.

Let’s be honest. Besides a good corner deli, it’s hard to find decent food at a decent price in this city (the most overhyped and underwhelming city in the world).
OMG Shawarma is a decent shawarma at a decent price and as such it deserves four stars. Remember, I’m not doing this ridiculous NYC rating system where everything is between 4-5 stars. Average on a bell curve is 2.5 people. 2.5. If you’re confused because you flunked high school math, just ask ChatGPT what average would be in a five star rating system.
What I will say about how I rate in NYC is that I have to do it on NYC’s level, which is lower than the rest of the world. So a 5 star in NYC would maybe be 4 stars in another country. This is because while the variety of food in NYC is second to none, the quality falls far short. You’ll always find better food in the country of origin than in the representative restaurantes from that country that you’ll find in NYC. And this is where I always find issue with those who say NYC is the greatest foodie city in the world.
Now, as to OMG Shawarma, I’m no shawarma expert, but the pita was soft, the hummus decent, the veal tasty, the sauces on point, and the portion generous.
