The best place to go in NYC for whiskey fans. Great selection, fair prices, and incredibly knowledgeable and friendly employees and owner. Surprisingly reasonable prices for anything from octomore to buffalo trace antique collection. Highly recommend and made for an amazing experience for me and my dad. Next time I'm in NYC this is first on the list of places to go.

I stopped by On The Rocks for the first time today and had an amazing experience. Lamar and Patrick were behind the bar and couldn’t have been more welcoming, they were patient, knowledgeable, and helped me explore a few whiskeys until I found something I absolutely loved (even though I showed up pretty clueless about what I wanted). I also had the chance to meet the owner, Howie, who was just as kind and down-to-earth.

On the Rocks is one of my favorite bars in NYC. I love the intimate atmosphere of the bar and the friendly interaction with the bartenders. They have a huge selection of whiskeys and bourbons and to my knowledge one of the only bars that allows you to do a tasting before selecting what you want poured. The bartenders are very knowledgeable and eager to help you find your next pour. But word of advice be sure to let them know what you price range is for a pour of whiskey or bourbon...
