Unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. It was amazing atmosphere but it also felt like you were at home. The way the all the crazy flavors worked so well together is unmatched.

This restaurant falls short of the standards expected from a 1 Michelin-star establishment. It's hard to understand how it earned such a distinction.

**Service:** Our reservation for 8:15 PM was not honored, and we were only seated at 8:50 PM. A more professional approach would have been to manage table turnover more efficiently, ensuring all guests' reservation times are respected. They did comp us 2 drinks for the wait which was nice.

**Food:** While the dishes were good for a major city, they lacked the "wow" factor that should define a Michelin-starred experience. At ~$183 USD per person (including taxes), the value for money was disappointing. For example, the exterior of the sourdough bread was so hard that it was difficult to cut with the provided steak knife.

The monkfish was the standout dish, but even that didn’t elevate the overall experience. Neither of us finished the dessert, which was underwhelming.

**Value:** If the price point were closer to $60–$70 per person, the meal might warrant a 4/5 rating. However, at $180+, the experience leaves you feeling let down and overcharged.

In summary, this restaurant does not live up to the expectations set by its Michelin star, particularly given the high price tag.

Fine, not amazing. Cocktail was delicious — perfectly balanced. First few courses of tasting menu were good. Steak was tough as was the fish. Overall not really impressed. Service was good.

Delicious, flavorful food with down to earth vibe & service. If I lived in NYC I would eat here regularly! Looking forward to coming back again.

One White Street delivered great food and excellent service Everything we ate was fresh and delicious. The award-winning chefs use the best quality ingredients to produce dishes that are simply delightful. The restaurant also offers a wonderful drink menu, and they offer one of the best wines in the region. They get new menu every couple of months and make it more fun to try new dishes.

Excellent food, full of flavor, creative and coming in large portions. Interesting wine selection but not offering lots of lower price. Cocktails were excellent. Nice atmosphere, not stuffy regardless of the Michelin star. The beef was incredible melting in the mouth

Very cool restaurant and delicious food. We sat at the bar for dinner and Will, the bartender, took great care of us. He told us all about the restaurant and gave us great recommendations for food and drinks. We’ll definitely be back. And definitely try the black kat cocktail!! ?

TLDR: Hyper-Local New American, casually fancy with inventive cocktails, seasonal menus, and a top ranked burger.

Vibes: Three floor layout with open kitchens on each floor, allowing maximum chef counter seating. We sat on the third floor and there was one other party at the counter, and maybe five other tables on this level making for a very intimate ambiance. Far from pretentious though, everything was inviting and the small details were not overlooked.

Bar Service: we were welcomed with a small pour of Cremant for our anniversary celebration. And presented with a short list of creative cocktails and a variety of other tipples to suit every preference. a sommelier was available if we wanted to order a bottle of wine.

Service: casually refined. Seemingly without trying (though you don’t succeed this well without intention) the hosts were inviting and attentive, a note was waiting at our table from the staff, and the entire front of house staff was engaged across the floor without appearing rushed. Sitting at the chef’s counter we were also able to interact with some of the back of house staff, including Eddie, which made the evening even more special! I learned that this restaurant also owns a farm upstate, and if Instagram is to be believed, the farm where our produce came from is on about 3 miles from my childhood home upstate.

Food: clean menu with an almost perfect selection of items to suite all palates. We split our order down the middle so as not to miss out! Started with the focaccia and brussels sprouts salad, then followed that up with the burger, scallops, and crispy potatoes. Finished with a goat cheesecake with concord grape sorbet to top off a perfect meal, fully satisfied.

Do not pass on the focaccia… The burger jumped to #1 on my burger list… and my wife’s comment “omg that’s so f*cking good” (dessert course) was overheard by one of our chef’s - we hope he passed along our sentiments to his colleagues!

On the pricier side, so we can’t afford to go weekly, but for the quality of both food and service without the pretension - 1WS instantly jumps to the top of our fine dining list where we will take out of town foodies, in-laws who we actually like, and household celebrations for years to come!

Food overall was very good. Dishes were creative and well plated. Really liked the brussels sprouts salad, well balanced and texturally interesting. Squash ravioli was delicious with the pasta being perfectly cooked.

Initially, the service was great. We had an 8:15 reservation and the staff was very attentive to start. However as dinner progressed, around 9:45, our initial server disappeared and the service fell off. We were given our check before we received the final course in the tasting menu. It felt like the staff priority was to rush us out to shut down the restaurant at 10pm on a Saturday. They were not turning our table. There was no offer of coffee or digestif, which is unusual for Michelin star restaurant.

Disappointing. Service was slow. Dinner was ok. My bean salad was meh. It was shredded string beans. Dressing not very flavorful.. The scallop dinner , all 3 of them, really? Were just ok. Dish was greasy and croutons were soft and drenched in butter which overwhelmed my palette. The flavors were a hodge podge. Lastly, while I know what goes on behind the scenes is different, I found it unsanitary that the chefs behind the bar were preparing food with their bare hands. I would have liked to see gloves worn.

I traveled from Omaha, NE to experience One White Street, and it was absolutely worth it! The Michelin star is well-deserved. The food was exceptional—every dish was executed with precision, creativity, and flavor that left a lasting impression. The head chef’s talent is evident in the attention to detail that the kitchen staff brings to each course.

The ambiance is really cool and unique, with a layout that adds to the experience without feeling stuffy. The staff was professional yet approachable, striking the perfect balance between being attentive and laid-back. One White Street offers an unforgettable dining experience, and I’ll be dreaming about the food long after my trip! Can’t wait to come back.

Wow!!!!! One of my favorite dining experiences I’ve had in NYC. I picked this place last second by searching for Michelin star restaurants near where I was staying for evening. The tasting menu is really something special - especially accompanied with the wine pairings. We were blown away by some feature every course. More than that though, the service was spectacular. Every server was attentive and enthusiastic. The somm, in particular, is unique. A wonderful combination of deep knowledge and vibrant enthusiasm. Thank you for a great evening!

One white street truly exceeded our expectations. At least 40% of dining in NYC is about the vibe/atmosphere and you could not be in a better setting than one white as it resides on 3 floors within a beautifully decorated townhouse. We went in the summer which fared well for the deliciously fresh ingredients that have to choose from (I.e corn pasta, tomato carpaccio etc) but totally envisioned returning in the colder seasons because of the cozy setting.
Service was also fantastic. Our waiter seemed genuinely happy to be there and interact with us. Our wine glasses were never empty and he gave very honest and spot on recommendations. The somm, James, was also so approachable and knowledgable about the wine. He went out of his way to ensure us wonderful hospitality.
Finally the food was impeccable - very unique but approachable dishes. Highly recommend the burger! As mentioned they change the menu based on what’s fresh and in season and even after eating plenty of food we didn’t feel gross or bad the next day because of the quality. Don’t walk, run to 1WS!!
