I have been to Orsay many times, most recently with a friend on a rainy night in mid-summer. The host recognized my friend and me both and greeted us warmly. The food and service are consistently very good: we were easily accommodated a table in a part of the restaurant that was not very crowded, and thus quieter (for NY), and our cocktails arrived quickly, followed by attentive offerings of fresh bread, followed by our salad, and our plats principaux. My daughter and I ate at Orsay on Lexington this past weekend, and it was excellent!
I had LE PAILLARD DE SUPREME DE POULET
Grilled chicken breast, Artichoke hearts, arugula, parmesan, Thyme oil and Ceasar dressing,FRENCH GREEN BEANS

The snail dish(Escargots) with fantastic herbs and oil, the steak that was properly marinated and well-cooked, the Croque Monsieur, the white wine and cocktails that came with it were all in harmony and taste. However, the service was a bit disappointing. There were a few mistakes, they didn't even give us steak knives, and it was not professional to see several people hurriedly serving at one table.
