Place a pick-up order first. Make sure you select the ‘cutting’ when ordering sashimi because they won’t cut it if you don’t select that option. Quality of sashimi is really good. They make sushi with sushi maker machine..but it’s tasty.
Service is not that good honestly..
Prices are reasonable…!!

No frills, fresh sushi and sashimi for takeout. I got the first class sushi and it is easily comparable to budget ($70) omakase spots, while being $20 cheaper. The toro is fresh, with clear marbling and ample fat. The scallop was meaty and sweet. Though some pieces were repeats, the quality and varied garnishes made every piece enjoyable.
The staff are polite and answered all my questions regarding options and how to order. I recommend sitting in Astor Place or Washington Square Park as there is no seating here.

love osakana for their amazing value sushi and sashimi! $28 for 30g is unbeatable value for this grade of uni, even if it isn’t flown in from japan. the uni tasted fresh and like the sea, not fishy at all. will definitely purchase this again
The first time I bought raw fish, I was very satisfied, so I came here the second time, the fish was very different and not fresh.
And I paid for salmon belly, but what I got was just regular salmon

My go to place if I’m craving for toro. Just have to try it every time I’m visiting NYC, I’m addicted.

Definitely try their uni shucking class - so worth it and they’re so generous. Gave us so much fish to make rolls and the quality was incredible.

Excellent, top shelf fish and well made sushi, at really economic prices for this level of quality.
This was an odd experience. I was excited to try and support this place, I loved the concept.
I ordered 2 sushi deluxes and gave a generous tip which landed me at about $90, they told me to come back in 20 to pick up the order. When I came back to pick up my order, they couldn’t remember if I had paid or not, which was uncomfortable but they were kind and trusting enough.
The presentation was a 10/10 but the food was not. The rice wasn’t seasoned enough, and the slices of fish (while generous) did not taste as though were not pre salted or vinegar soaked (in the traditional sense) and as a result the fish here tasted bland and tough to chew through, also the sinew and veining that was not cut out of the fish didn’t help.
I also got very sick after eating my meal here. Maybe this is more of a class oriented space?

Got the chirashi premium with uni. It was so nice, uni included and the perfectly made sushi rice. I paid $32 plus tax, best bang for the buck for sashimi I’ve ever had. There’s usually a 15 minute wait from time of order
The sushi was delicious and very fresh. The only drawback was that the vinegar rice was a bit hard, but I will want to come back! The store is only for takeout, so we recommend calling to order in advance so you don’t have to wait on site.
