Went here for afternoon tea on Valentine's Day so the place was definitely busy. The ambiance and decor of the place was nice and felt whimsical. Although, we were seated towards the end near the speakers so it was definitely loud from where we were especially with the live music they had going on at the time. The live performers and performance was definitely good though. Top notch singing from the satin dollz.
The food wasn't great or bad, just okay. The tea was good though. I will say that their tables, especially the 2 person table is very small. We barely had room for our afternoon tea set, plates and drinks. I get that they're trying to maximize the space but there's barely any room to eat.
Lastly, the service was not that great. I'm guessing because it was Valentine's Day and they were very busy and had lots of customers, but it seems like they only had one server at the time because she only came to our table once to take our order and we had to really hunt her down to pay for our meal.
Unfortunately I won't be coming back, but I guess if you want to go for the decor and ambiance, it's good to try it at least once.

I made a reservation one month prior to coming in on 2/14/26. When we arrived we were greeted by a hostess who couldn’t find our reservation. She tried to tell us we didn’t have one. I pulled up my confirmation email and she acted like we were bothering her by proving we had a reservation. We then get seated at a high top table next to the door. When asked if we could move to the 3 other open tables there were in plain view that were further from the door she told us no and said if we were unhappy with our table we could leave. Again, we were excited to eat here so we didn’t want to leave. Our table could probably sit 3 people comfortably and we were a table of 5 so we were crammed. The service was super slow and the waitress acted like she couldn’t be bothered by us. The food itself tasted good but we did the Valentine’s Day pre fix and each course was cold. The entire dinner people were walking by and kicking my chair because i happened To be the seat closest by the door. By far the worst dining experience i have Had. Will not return

Coming from California, this is hands down the BEST BAR in NYC! Luis is a fire DJ and was so hospitable and awesome. The entire staff was lovely, the ambiance was immaculate, the decor was stunning, that little lychee drink was BOMBBB and those wagyu sliders were out of this world. Thank you OW!!! Will def me back

This was a great place!!!Our group didn’t eat here, we just stopped in for a quick adult beverage, but we stayed for a couple of hours. It is amazingly decorated, staff was so nice, helpful and accommodating. If you are in New York, you have to check this place out!!!

Definitely one of the cooler bars I've ever been to. Should be pretty obvious that the atmosphere in Oscar Wilde is amazing! Had a great bourbon based cocktail!

My husband and I were having a rough day and came to Oscar Wilde to have some drinks and distract ourselves. Rachel, the bartender with the signature red hat, was truly wonderful. It was crazy busy but she served our drinks swiftly and with a smile. This place is one of the prettiest bars in NYC and after our experience, it will be a required stop for any future travels to the Big Apple.

We came in on a Friday afternoon and enjoyed some drinks at the bar with a lovely blond woman in a red hat. We let her know we had reservations for the following Sunday, and she was an amazing salesperson: she hyped up the dinner and talked about the options on the fixed menu. We were excited to hear she'd be working that night as well.
Unfortunatley, we didn't sit at the bar on Sunday; instead, the reservation we made weeks prior scored us the far back table. I got a wonderful view of the ghost bar, staff check folder, a brulée torch, and the buckets servers use to loudly dump dirty dishes into; my husband had a great view of a deserted DJ station and alley behind which was crammed full of junk under shelves with a lonely hanger on the floor.
Given the table selection, being sat 15mins past our reservation, and music that's a bit loud, we decided it best to leave after the appetizer. Congrats on maximizing sitting space, but this table is an inappropriate placement to serve patrons. The hummus was fine, though it had a weird aftertaste; at least the carrots came in assorted colors.
But hey, it's New York! With tons of other places around, we found a sgnificantly quieter, tasier spot less than three minutes away.

I went to Oscar Wilde on Valentine’s Day with three friends. There were four of us in total. I asked the manager/receptionist at the front for a table for four people.
At first, they seated us at a table meant for six people. After about five minutes, when we were already settled, they asked us to stand up and said the table was only for six people and told us to move back inside.
When we asked again for a table, they said it was “reservation only.” However, I could clearly see that there were no actual reservations being honored… they simply had “reserved” stickers on tables and were allowing others to sit.
We felt very uncomfortable and poorly treated. The behavior we experienced felt discriminatory and unfair. The staff was not respectful toward us at all.
I don’t know if the owner of this bar will see this, but the way customers are treated needs serious improvement. No one should feel unwelcome or discriminated against.

TL;DR: Great staff, great vibe, solid food, meh cocktails
Listen its really lovely and eclective and fun to be at. Both Oscar Wilde and it's sister location do great on decor.
The cocktails are lacking though. I tend to be a heavy weight, so usually I would say take my advice witha grain of salt, but we had a light weight in our party and even she thought the cocktails tasted mostly like watered down juice.
The food is good - sliders were genuinely delicous, the arancini balls were not overly truffly or oily, like in some places, and the oysters tasted nice and fresh.
The staff was absolutely fantastic - very attentive without feeling overbearing and very responsive to our various needs. Shoutout our hostess/waitress Sofia, who was an absolute delight and incredibly charming and patient with our (admitedly) contentious group.
If they fix the cocktail game I will most certainly be back otherwise it was a fun one-off.

The atmosphere is fantastic, if you're looking for a unique restaurant in NYC. The calamari was ok, it's a small portion to share. The wagyu burger is really good had a good rat flavor but the gnocchi was a little bland. Drinks were great we opted for mocktails, we got the Florence Welch and the Brandon flowers. Our server kept forgetting about us, so we had to flag down the other staff for help. We also had to walk around to find her in order to get the bill. The deserts.were also good, we had the bread pudding. Just keep in mind the music is a bit loud so you'll have to speak up when chatting with your party. Other than that, it was a great place to try if you're in the city.

Reservation is definitely recommended as this place seems so packed even on the weekdays, came here Thursday with friends and we had an amazing time the happy hour is awesome, their drinks is amazing the food is fresh and tasty over all service is great, the restaurant itself is inviting and has a timeless decoration, Photos taken is the restaurant original set up and I believe they change the decor seasonal, based groom is on the basement and picturesque it's clean and maintained, the only downside is the space we got the table is too small that our meal hardly fit on it, I recommend the happy hour, our server is courteous and one of the best we had in a while, We will definitely coming back here another season to enjoy some other food on their menu and check out the new decor, I highly recommend this place for everyone to check it out whenever you are in NYC.
