After an afternoon walking around Chelsea market & pier 57 area, we walked here drawn by positive reviews suggesting great craft beer selection, food & service. Sadly, that was not our experience in a mostly empty venue at prime dinner time.
The ambience is lovely & the location cannot be beat, right at the start of the Highline and near the Hudson Yards stn. We sat outdoors anticipating a pleasant evening.
Our server was nice and promptly came to offer us water and take our drink orders. The beer selection was ok - not extensive (maybe 16 total) and very few craft beers. My partner ordered a Guinness and I requested a Montauk juicy IPA (can), but was told they were all out. So I ordered a draft IPA. Our beers arrived promptly but had been spilled, so there was beer all over the glasses. Not a big deal, but messy.
My partner ordered a braised brisket chili with jalapeño cornbread from the specials. I ordered squash pizza. We ordered a kale Caesar salad to start.
Our salad arrived promptly. But it was spinach (no kale). It tasted ok, but spinach lacks the crunch of kale (and Caesar salad should have crunch). Unfortunately it took 30 minutes after we finished our salad for our mains to arrive. The squash pizza was tasty but almost stone cold. The chili was super good. But the cornbread had been burnt, and the batter had been overmixed, so the cornbread was tough with a charred taste (I make jalapeño cornbread quite often, and I am quite certain it should be tender and not almost black).
We got the sense that the staff knew they had messed up, as they came by twice to see if everything was ok. To be fair to them, we did not complain as that is not our style, and because we had already been sitting there so long we did not want to send back our food.
Our bill came to 78usd plus tax, and we felt overcharged for the quality of food and service.
I think we will not return.

Made a quick stop to rest after visiting the museum and taking a walk. Had a refreshing beer and chicken wings and fries for a snack. The service is excellent, the staff very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the stay.

Overpriced and I live in Manhattan. The $24 burger does not include fries and it seemed premade. Cocktails were good but $20. Service was high end but food was not. Fried chicken sandwich was good but still overpriced. Got a table right away on a Friday night.
