Great experience. Was here for a work trip and dined solo. I definitely want to come back with a group and get more things. Love the concept of Korean tapas. Cool vibe, great service. The food was delicious, an elevated/modern twist on Korean comfort food.
Love it!! Food was delicious, friendly service.Worth the wait for a table. It’s tapas style, so we were able to try a lot of different dishes. One of my favorites dishes was the Nurungji ricecake. So so good. Also black bean noodles were amazing!
Hear that Palpal is newly opened up and just walked in and tried in with my friend. Overall it’s a great experience! The waiter and waitress are attentive and the ambience is great too kinda like industrial vibe. The foods are pretty goodSour monkfish: kinda just like Chinese sweet and sour chicken sauce. 3/5Crab meat soup: would recommend. I guess it’s a combination of crab meat and the hotpot crab tube thing. 4/5Soybean noodle: it’s good. But nothing special about it. Pretty standard I would say. 3/5
This place is super sleek and modern. The food comes out as small plates so it’s great for sharing. The drinks are delicious and affordable too!The staff is really kind and attentive and also easy to look at ?There are lots of tables for large parties. Definitely a good place to bring people who may not want to endure the craziness of Ktown, entertain some casual coworker hangs, or share a snacky meal. And they take reservations! What we ordered:88 chicken - good boneless fried chicken but not exactly what I’m looking for in Korean fried chicken. More sweet and tangy.Cilantro kimchi - a surprisingly highlight. Very refreshing and tart. Super delicious in contrast with the heavier dishes.Mentaiko Noodles - so much scallion. I wish it was more incorporated rather than sprinkled raw on top. I also expected this to be creamier and stronger in Mentaiko flavor. But it was neither. I wish it was spicy Mentaiko pasta Black bean noodles - a welcome balance to the Mentaiko noodles which felt one note. Earthy and savory.Spicy squid - standard Korean spicy squid. Yummy!
It is a contemporary Korean tapas-style restaurant newly opened near by K-town. As a native Korean, I find these menus are somewhat familiar to me, but some twists in every dishes allow me experience new flavors. I love how they applied ingredients frequently used in other cuisines to Korean cuisine to create astonishing flavor. This place is a hidden gem. You should try it, and you will understand what I am saying.
Korean fusion restaurant. It’s clean and neat. 3 tapas are enough for 2. Me and my partner had 7 dishes and left most of them. Because of large portions. Highly recommend the earl grey highball.
I loved this place and have to come back with a bigger group to try more of their dishes. I had the 2x spicy noodles and the pork belly with scallion. Just a warning, the spicy noodles are veryyy spicy. I wish I had gotten a few other mild dishes to balance it out, but that would have been too much food for one person. We also ordered the earl grey shaved ice dessert which was topped with a sort of earl grey foam, Cocoa Puffs, and dried marshmallows. It was phenomenal. The earl grey flavor really stood out.The portion sizes here very reasonable for the price and what I’ve tried so far was incredible. Will have to come back!
We really enjoyed our time here for dinner. We managed to catch a table within a few days of opening so we got seated quick, but I’m sure they will get very popular quick. I loved the ambiance and being able to see into the kitchen and meal prep area. We started with the kimchi which was an interesting take but we all liked It. We got plates to share and had the stir fry noodles, lamb bulgogi and spicy squid. The food came out quick, and the server was attentive. The drinks were phenomenal!
Great Korean fusion restaurant with great selection of foods! The beef tartare is really good, and the moodily and fries here are all special and delicious! The highballs, cocktails and Soju here are also rather affordable and refreshing, I would recommend to order a glass for the food as it is rather strong in flavor.A recommended restaurant here at Korean Town!
I meant to come here since it opened in April because the menu was so intriguing. I finally got to go last week but guys! This is it. Their menu is like tapas so the portions are small but meaning you can order a variety of food. My favorite was mala-yukhoe(beef tartar with Sichuan seasoning) This is so unique and I can guarantee you can't find this anywhere in nyc. Also, if you love cilantro, they have cilantro salad(겉절이) and it's gonna hit the spot. Last but not least, their dessert bingsoo was good (imo it's better than Grace Street) I would totally go just for the dessert. I loved everything about this restaurant. The vibe, open kitchen, drinks, food, desserts. As someone who's been to Take 31 a lot, this place is a new gem and I am definitely going back!

Nice date night at PalPal! We were hungry so we ordered several dishes: Mala beef tartare, kimchi tofu, lamb bulgogi, spicy squid, black bean noodles, and seafood ragu rice. I think the stand outs were the mala beef, tofu, and black bean noodles. Seafood ragu rice was tasty and solid but not super special, but it was a good base to eat with the other dishes. I wouldn’t order the spicy squid again - the squid pieces were tough, and it was basically drenched in gochujang. For drinks we got 2 different kinds of high balls - tasty but not very strong and probably wouldn’t order again. Overall there were several strong dishes and for the price point, I’d recommend.
Dropped by for a small dinner. We ordered 3 dishes:88 chicken, basically fried chicken with cashews, spicy enough with some sweetness.Lamb bulgogi: thinly sliced and soft with light seasoning. Some baby corns and mushrooms mixed in.Spicy noodles: Came with corn and cheese, along with sweetness that may have overpowered the spice. It was supposed to be spicier than the fried chicken. You can definitely taste the spiciness, just wasn't as spicy as we would have liked.Finished up with the frozen yogurt with popping rocks. We will definitely come back to try other dishes.
I came here knowing that it's a sister restaurant of take31, which I genuinely love, so I had high expectations. Unfortunately, most of the flavor was pretty mediocre and I think it was too safe. The mentai noodle was too oily and a bit bland while the 88chicken is too sticky, which makes it hard to eat. I think the beef was pretty good but it lacked depth and pretty much tastes like what you would expect. The only thing I really liked from what I ordered was the shrimp - love that black pepper sauce and how it's fried to perfection.Overall, it was a bit underwhelming but I hope they rotate their menu so we can try other things!
