The food is really good and it's a lovely little restaurant. Service can vary and I had to be very insistent that they turn down very loud music which they eventually did. All in all it's a gem of a place.

good food and service; prices have increased to quiestionabvle levels, e.g. pasta vongole for $42

Paola's was exceptionally good. The food was phenomenal and the room and staff were lovely. Thank you!! Can't wait to come back!

Open table didn't have the restaurant set up properly in their system yet so my reservation was screwed up. But the restaurant manager and hostess quickly made good on the situation. Food, service, everyone we interacted with were fantastic.

Paola's new location on Madison Avenue is the most welcome addition to the Upper East Side restaurant scene in years. It expands on the space the restaurant has been in on Lexington without losing any of the warmth, service, and food quality that we regulars rely on. Big thanks and best wishes to Stefano, Daniel, Ramon, Nick, and the entire hardworking staff. So glad you are back.

This is one of our favorite places to eat. Fabulous food , excellent staff and neighborhood feel.

In passing through the city on an annual basis, this is my go to restaurant. Given it is close to my daughter's apartment is a plus. However, being the product of an Italian mother from Vicenza, the food at Paola's is as authentic as Italian food can get. Not American-Italian which so many are. Bravo!

We love this neighborhood restaurant and last night both enjoyed their homemade pasta. It's the best pasta in town and we learned they are opening a second restaurant. Give it a try, great wine list and amazing service.

This is by far one of my favorite places to eat in NYC I go very often and recommend to everyone.

This is our favourite restaurant in the area. We visit family 3-4 times per year and always dine here at least a couple of times over the 3-5 days that we are visiting.

The temperature of the restaurant was very uncomfortable (too cold). Had to request more bread and grated Parmesan cheese. Wait time for entrees was very long. Portion sizes were very small.

As always, everything was perfect. We arrived about 20 minutes before our reservation and we offered a choice of tables. The food was excellent but we weren't crazy about the fried artichokes appetizer. We have had better at Paola. The linguini with shrimp and the ricotta and spinach gnocchi were wonderful entrees and the strawberry shortcake was the best ending! Paola's is always our favorite place for dinner before we go to the 92nd Street Y.

We love Paola and all the locations it has been in. Food is always superior and wait staff amazing. This location on 90/Lex is very small so it makes it difficult to have a conversation and have private space to talk to your dinner guests.

I arrived with my guest a polite 5 minutes before the reservation time. There were 6 other persons with reservations already waiting. We were told to stay outside (small restaurant), etc. It was, however freezing cold with a bitter wind blowing. A friendly waiter (who offered a drink) said he was sorry they were running behind. (Stating the obvious). Another 4 people then arrived, so there were almost as many patrons outside on the pavement as inside. After 15 minutes standing in the cold, we gave up as did some of the others. This is the second time Paola's have left me in the cold (figuratively and literally) !!!! So it is not a random event. I only returned because my guest was from Milan and asked to be taken to a northern Italian cuisine restaurant. When I left, there were 10 people who all had reservations times that had already been far exceeded. I asked them! My conclusion is that Paolo's is either electronically naive, incompetent, or is simply greedy in pursuing an "overbooking strategy "seeking to create the impression of high desirability. I consider either explanation unprofessional and duplicitous. Bait and wait strategy. Why offer redervations that do not exist, simply to bolster the ego of the proprietor.....? A crude and unrefined style of doing business. Caveat emptor!!!!!!!! My advice to members of Open Table is to do what I did.... walked round the corner to Carravaggio Restaurant and had a splendid meal without being told to stand in the freezing wind of a bitter winter NY night!
