Went for brunch and it was great. The drinks were surprisingly affordable for New York ($12 for a margarita). The portions of food were big. It was relatively empty so not loud. A very nice brunch place with family, friends or a date!

I’ve been to Papatzul a few times and unfortunately my experiences keep getting worse.
- Late at night, the restaurant turns into a crowded club, so packed that it feels unsafe and likely over its legal occupancy limit.
- The bouncer at the door often quotes different cover charges to different guests, which feels dishonest.
- Inside, bartenders and servers frequently overcharge and automatically add gratuity without informing customers, then still ask for an extra tip.
- The owner/manager is rude and unprofessional. I’ve seen him remove patrons’ belongings from tables without asking or apologizing whenever someone orders bottle service. When confronted about it, he just brushed it off.
- The atmosphere can get rowdy, and I’ve witnessed brawls break out, perhaps why they have so many bouncers on hand.
Overall, what could be a nice spot for food and drinks instead feels chaotic, disorganized, and disrespectful to paying guests. I would not recommend Papatzul, especially late at night.

Joaquín and team we’re awesome! They we’re do fun played the best music and really took care of our friends celebrating their wedding! They also had a great selection of work.
Had an excellent experience dining at this place. The atmosphere was fantastic with a great music selection. The servers were attentive, all the dishes that we ordered was phenomenal. Highly recommended the Octopus tostadas and Aguachile negro!

Pedro was the best bartender i have had in NYC. He was such a good vibe and gave the best drink reccommendations. I was going to go to another place, but he was do cool so we decided to stay. Highly recommend visiting Pedro at this bar!!!

I went to Papatzul for a friend's birthday and we had a blast! we asked the restaurant if they can prepare for a birthday shout out for out friend and they had an amazing and fun celebration for him. the food and service were great also, staff was very friendly!
