Went this evening after a long day in Manhattan. Passerine immediately entered my top 10 restaurant experiences in NYC, maybe top 5. My only two regrets: that I had been a little hungrier because there were 3 other dishes that tempted me, and that I had a more disposable income to satisfy that craving. Another entry into the growing modern Indian food trend. I think Passerine skews a bit more fusion than authentic and the flavors are balanced but not exactly intense. The execution on all the dishes I tried was excellent but some just didn't taste like Indian food - grilled fish with a tomatillo sauce (tacos?), a korma that tasted mostly like creamed corn, etc. The breads served with the later courses are really good.
