The idea of a mom amd pop bakery in the village was cliche 30yeara ago . But with skyrocketing rents and fees immigrants cannot afford to open these shops. It's beautiful to see Roccos is around. I love all things pastry so won't grade items but mom makes amazing pignoli cookies. ROCCOS gives her a run for 1st
Any Italian growing up in New York knows that this place is the real deal. My gold standard for any Italian bakery is the cannoli, and they make some of the best in the city. They fill them fresh every time, and they are also gracious enough to sell me a small cup of just cannoli cream for gluten free. I always drop by when I'm in the area.
We visited Pasticceria Rocco and ordered the butter croissant and the Nutella croissant. The butter croissant was perfectly flaky and rich in buttery flavor. The Nutella croissant was indulgent and generously filled, so much so that the warm Nutella flowed out like lava, making it a little messy but still delicious. The ambience was lovely, with a cozy brick-wall setting, warm lighting, and greenery that made it feel inviting and relaxed. Friendly service rounded out the experience....
