Northern Italian food at its finest! I had my first date, with my now wife, here 45 years ago and the owner Louie has impressed us with the same quality food and service as the first time we came here. Very good wine selection at reasonable prices. The burrata and beet salad was delicious as a starter. The halibut special was cooked to perfection as was the branzino! A side dish of pasta with oil and garlic was the perfect compliment to the halibut!

I love Italian food, but I’m allergic to garlic. P&J has always been able to accommodate me and the food is always delicious! They have a home made tomatoes sauce with no garlic that is so yummy! I just had the tastiest non-garlic mussels for the first time in years (they are slathered in garlic everywhere) and I was so happy!! Love the old country feel and that it is usually so quiet and pleasant. Some guest can get excited and loud, but it part of the charm :)

I visited Paul & Jimmy’s during my stay in New York and, unfortunately, the experience left me disappointed.

Although the restaurant was half empty and all we ordered were two bottled beers, the service was incredibly slow. It took far too long for such a simple order, and the lack of attention was hard to ignore.

The atmosphere had potential, but the lack of efficiency and poor customer care made it difficult to fully enjoy the moment.

What a gem this place is! We called an audible and found Paul & Jimmy’s. From the service to the food, it was incredible. What a lovely little restaurant. Please go here and taste it for yourself.

The place was booked. The staff was very nice about it will be back again for a more comprehensive review.

Definitely one of the most overrated places I've ever been to eat. The shrimp risotto was ok, average, but we asked for a gluten-free pasta and it was not fresh pasta, it was box pasta with a sauce and it cost 30 dollars. I definitely wouldn't go again.

1- Food = 3.5/5 Good. Spedini is average Tasting with a little too much of a fishy taste. There was a time we would order 2 servings of Spedini for appetizers because it was so Delicious. Pasta dishes are still very good but not quite as good as they used to be. Seems like the quality has taken a hit recently and I’m not sure why.
2 - Service = 4/5. Very good. Everything is good except trying to make me order all of my food all at once which really starts out my dinner experience on a sour note. We usually order 3 appetizers for just the 2 of us. As a waiter you gotta know how to read the room and understand your customers. We’ve been here a minimum of 25 times including sitting outside by ourselves with zero heat bundled up during Covid 19 and still they can’t remember us ??. lol.
3 - Ambiance = 5/5. Excellent. Pretty restaurant with years of history.
4 - Reservations = 5/5. Excellent. Open table same day.
5 - Value = 3.5/5. Good. Paul and Jimmy’s has fallen out of our top 3 Italian restaurants in Manhatten. With that being said we will probably return, Borderline on recommending.

Was not impressed at all. Food was just ok. Service was below standards for what you would think by looking at the place. The "owner" or "manager" sat at the bar and ate dinner during busy dinner hours... weird.

Our first time here but won't be our last! We started with drinks at the bar and as we were early (5p) we were the only people there. Bartender was more than friendly and we talked for a long while. Moved to our table and had the bartender for our server and he was awesome! Food was delicious! My only comment is we were charged $5 ea to substitute pasta for veggies and the portion was very small. But it was SO good, I wanted more. Can't wait for another trip!
