The food was fine, but the service was really sub-par. It was a quiet Monday night with almost no tables and we found ourselves waiting for ... everything. Our server left in the middle of our meal (saw him leave in street clothes) without saying anything; the folks who picked up for him after his departure were disengaged and slow. Really detracted from the food and experience.

Everything went well. The. service. was better. than I. remember. The chicken scarparelli was excellent. The. best. was they prepared an entree for. one. of us as. it. was. requested - veal marsala using veal not coated with flour. I think. the minestrone soup. could. have. more vegetables and less potato. They. did not. have the very good desert they had. in October ptifferoles.

Always passed by and wanted to be spontaneous and try it this Saturday evening. We won't return. Service is unfriendly. Cocktail making was very basic, and we received a mozzarella- sweet pepper appetizer that was inedible The “ homemade “ mozzarella was so dry and tasteless. We did communicate this when they inquired if we enjoyed it. But they did not remove it from our bill. It's too bad we had a displeasuring 1st visit , because our two entrees were quite delicious! It worth noting our final waiter of the evening ( ours went home near our meals end ) was very pleasant. We did enjoy his dessert service.

We LOVE P&J! If we're in Union Square/Gramercy, this is our go-to restaurant. We've been many times, and it's always a wonderful experience. Service is perfect, food is incredible, ambiance is great. You can't go wrong here!

Paul & Jimmy's serves up classic Italian fare as well as innovative specials, with helpful, personable service in a friendly neighborhood atmosphere. The Mediterranean grilled chop is heaven!

We found Paul & Jimmy’s while looking for a restaurant near Union Square after a day of walking. Staff welcomed us warmly & we didn’t need to wait for a table at the 5:00 hour. The food was delicious! The flavors of our pasta were wonderful & authentic. We were grateful they were able to accommodate a gluten allergy. We finished up with dessert & it was worth it!

Entering the dining room you feel the warmth of the atmosphere and aromas of delicious food. A large menu of a variety of dishes and wines including a prix fixe dinner too. Minestrone is one of the I've ever had and the homemade pasta dishes are highly recommended. Another memorable evening ! I shall return !

First time there. Very impressed. Kind of a Gramercy Park neighborhood “hidden gem”. I believe there since 1950s. Cozy dining room with low noise levels. Easily can have table “conversations”. Zucchini sticks a delicious appetizer. Pasta dishes, perfect. Bread basket great. And ..... a special callout for the Eggplant Parmigiana. Really good. Comes with broccoli & carrots. Will be back!! Definitely recommend.

This was lunch, just lunch. Just delicious! good food and good service in a quiet and cozy space in Gramercy Park. Baked clams, eggplant, salmon, a cannoli, and Italian cheese cake. My friend and I were very happy.

Paul and Jimmy's is great. Family owned, a long time gramercy establishment.Their negronis and martinis are excellent and their happy hour choices are classic.I always order the caesar salad with chicken, minestrone soup, or if I want an entree whatever white fish they are serving.Wish they had food on happy hour.

The food was ok. But not as rated « one of the best Italians restaurants in NYC ». But despite the smiles and efforts of our waiter, you still feel out of place. The manager makes you feel almost unwelcome, not belonging.
