I recently had the pleasure of attending a pizza-making class at PDA Pizza, and I must say, it was an absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish. Here's why this class deserves a full five stars:

The class was led by a chef who not only had an impressive depth of knowledge but also a passion for sharing it. Every step, from dough preparation to baking, was explained clearly and demonstrated with finesse. The instructor's enthusiasm was infectious, making the learning process both enjoyable and informative.

This wasn't just a demonstration class. Each participant was given their own station and set of ingredients, ensuring that everyone had ample opportunity to practice the techniques themselves. The hands-on approach significantly boosted my confidence in making pizza at home.

The class emphasized the importance of high-quality ingredients, and it certainly made a difference. From the fresh, aromatic basil to the creamy mozzarella and robust tomatoes, every component was top-notch. It was a true farm-to-table experience, enhancing the flavors of the final product.

We covered a lot in the class: different dough rolling techniques, and a variety of topping combinations. The curriculum was well-rounded, catering to both beginners and more experienced cooks.

The environment was friendly and inclusive. The small class size allowed for personalized attention, and there was a wonderful sense of camaraderie among participants. The setting was clean, well-organized, and equipped with everything we needed.

The pizza-making class at PDA Pizza was a top-tier experience that exceeded my expectations in every way. Whether you're a novice cook or a seasoned home chef looking to perfect your pizza game, this class is an absolute must. The combination of expert instruction, high-quality ingredients, and a supportive learning environment makes it worth every penny. I can't wait to impress my friends and family with my newfound skills! Five stars, without a doubt.

PIZZA MAKING CLASS ?

I’ve never made a pizza in my life, but I managed to come out of here with delicious, fresh-out-of-the-oven pizza + pizza dough to take home (which my family loved)!!

If you’re looking for a fun, easy, and chill activity to do in New York City, this is it! This pizza making class is beginner friendly and is perfect to do with friends, your family, or a date. It’s a beginner-friendly class! No need to have any cooking/baking experience because you’ll be guided throughout the session :)

PDA Pizza provides all the ingredients and materials, so you don’t need to bring anything with you.

I went here on a Thursday night with my brother and cousin who were visiting the city. It’s located inside The Hugh, which is conveniently right beside the subway station.

We were welcomed with wine and pizza to enjoy while waiting for everyone else to come to class.

We were taught by Chef Shah on how to prepare the dough and ways on how to knead it. He gave us a little background about himself and the shop which I liked—because it made me appreciate the shop and the class even more. He was so hilarious and kept us entertained all throughout the session. We really loved the energy he brought out that night!

He did a demo on pizza dough kneading, and afterwards, we all practiced kneading the provided pre-made dough before we actually made our own to take home. Everyone had fun attempting to throw and toss the dough in the air! Chef Shah was really detailed with the steps and in explaining how pizza/dough making works. You’ll feel like a kid playing with clay once you start practicing with the dough lol. It felt therapeutic to roll and stretch out the dough ?

Finally, we were led to one of the tables to prepare and knead our own pizza dough. All the ingredients were already prepared and pre-measured for us, so that we could all just easily toss and mix the ingredients in the bowl. This was really fun—kneading and working on the dough, and just chatting with everyone on the table! Chef Shah helped us determine whether or not the dough was ready, if it needed to be flour-ed more, etc. He was really accommodating all throughout! We were then provided with boxes to keep our freshly made dough to take home.

After that, my party & I were led to the kitchen to make our own pizza! The dough was already prepared, and all we had to do was to add any toppings that we wanted! They had cheese, veggies, and diff kinds of meat available.

The pizza was then baked in the oven by the chef, and served to us afterwards! It was soooo good and honestly I feel like it tasted better cos I was the one that customized the toppings lol. Our pizzas were huge, so we ended up taking a couple of slices home too.

Overall it was a great experience that I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for something to do in Manhattan! Everything was really hands on. It’s a fun way to bond with your friends/family/date, especially on a weeknight.

At the end of the class, Chef Shah gave us homemade cookies which I think was a very lovely touch to end the night :)

The Chicken Parm is the play here. Wow! The chicken is so tender and flavorful and not covered in soggy breading. Such an innovation on a classic!
Pizza wasn't great.

I ordered here, and I was not at all satisfied with the flavor of the pizzas. The pepperoni was a little overcooked and had no flavor, we just had the spiciness in the mouth and an anise flavor (should be specified for people who are allergic or who don't like it).The White Pizza Slice didn't look like what I ordered, seeing the photo on the website.

Chef Shah teaches a great pizza making class. Chef Shah brings the skills of a top tier pizzaiolo, trained by an Italian and delivers those skills to you in his class. No matter how you slice it, his class is top notch.

Incredible chicken parm sandwich. Didn’t really think it was possible to reinterpret such a classic dish, but I was wrong. Focaccia bread with juicy and tender chicken thighs, marinara sauce with some kick from the red pepper flakes, high quality mozzarella, and it’s adorned with high quality parmesan. So for the purists, it’s not on semolina bread nor is it a chicken cutlet (the chicken is un-breaded!!). But if you’re willing to look past preconceived notions, you’ll find yourself eating and enjoying a high quality reinvention of the wheel.

Took a pizza making class here and Chef Shah was fantastic. Really explained the care into using organic small business owned whole wheat flour all the way to making great dough proofed for days. If you can’t make the class, pizza is a fantastic satisfying slice. Go get one!
