Disappointing, ordered 2 ducks, sizzling rice soup and lobster cantonese. Ducks were dry and overdone, sizzling rice soup WAS NOT sizzling and they forgot 3 out 6 of them. Service out of kitchen was slow and the restaurant empty.

Not as good as I remember... the peking duck was still delicious though! That's the only reason to go. No effort at all was made from our server, not sure he even spoke.

The food, particularly their namesake peking duck was excellent. Unfortunately, the service, which was somewhere between non-existent and sub-par didn't do justice to the wonderful dishes. If table service improved, this review would be much more favorable.

As always, we love this spot! It's in my top 3 favorite NYC restaurants. I love that if you ask they'll give the duck carcass to take home and make your own soup at home.

Went to check out their food after a friend mentioned.

Very disappointed, I grew up in Beijing and used to eat Peking duck all the time, this restaurant wouldn’t survive there for a week.

Some criteria for judging a Peking duck which they all failed:
Duck skin not crispy at all
Wrong wraps for Peking duck
Wrong sauce
Cucumber and scallions sliced way too big

Overall, I think they changed the traditional way of cooking Peking duck for cheaper production cost, it may be good at first glance if you never had Peking duck, but once you go to a real one you will notice the difference in flavor and quality.

We ordered takeout here every week for last 5 years for the 1/2 Peking duck meal. It was always pancakes, scallions/cucumbers, duck and sauce packed individually. Today, we got it and the Peking duck is rolled for you already onto 4 pancakes. It was so bad. Too saucy and and no crispy duck skin. Just disappointed and not good. We called them and they said they did that because “some people don’t know how to roll them” but in reality they are giving you scraps and pawning them off as a Peking duck meal. Never again. Please beware if you are ordering takeout.

Solid food and reasonable service. The food was slightly salty.

This place has definitely lost its lustre. The Peking duck was ok, not great. The hoisin sauce was watery and tasted of vinegar. The Chinese broccoli was all stems and almost zero tops and leaves. Made me wonder what they did with the tops. I suspect they use them for another dish ! Have been going to them for 40 years. Hadn’t been for several years and decided to see if they were the same. Not worth it. A shame.

Food was great. Chicken dumplings were delicious. Overall chicken taso, noodles , vegetables dumplings all were delicious. Casual atmosphere, nothing fancy but a good place to eat and relax.

Of course the puking duck is fantastic, but don't forget to sauteed string beans. It's worth going back just for that

Long-established and always well-attended restaurant in the center of Chinatown. It's often mentioned in food blogs about places to eat in Chinatown. So we went and were really lucky to get a table for 4 people without a reservation. All 4 of us took the Peking duck menu, which is hardly possible because after the soup and starters, the Peking duck is served first and then two main courses, which you can choose from the menu beforehand. The dessert is a piece of banana fried in batter. The Peking duck was as I remembered it from Beijing. The waiter carves them so that the skin is cut off first and then the first layer of meat. The rest goes back to the kitchen. It is eaten wrapped in crepes together with leek sticks and a sauce. By the way, the sauces served with the various dishes were all good. The “binge” lasts about 1 ½ to two hours, depending on how long you paused between courses. With drinks, the bill ended up totaling $290 (4×$51 + drinks + tax and tip). To better classify the expenses, it should be noted that Peking duck is not a common dish, but rather a feast that is only enjoyed in company. To reduce the quantity, you can only order Peking duck for two or four people, but this doesn't make a big difference in price. However, I would still recommend it, as tourists who stay in hotels tend not to have leftover food packed up. In any case, we enjoyed it.

I’ve been coming here since I was born (1972) when it used to be on a second story building: 31 Mott St., if I remember well. I ALWAYS get the peking duck. ALWAYS!
The only bad critique I have is that some of the older waiters are grumpy old men. Besides that, this is a tradition that started with my dad & I’m sharing with my boys!
