Amazing experience from the waiters to the GM, the food was excellent, the beer was top notch, a great atmosphere of what a tavern is with lots of picture of famous people attending such a great tavern. If i come back to NY i would definitely eat again in Pete's Tavern.

Pete's Tavern is a historic upscale pub on Irving Place near Gramercy Park and Union Square. The bar gets very crowded, but the restaurant usually has space available in the large dining room in the back. During warm days, you can dine outside. Pete's serves dinner, lunch and weekend brunch.
Pete's basic food is delicious. Think chops, fish & chips, pasta. Portions are reasonably large. Beers are very good. Try the house ale. Prices are fair.
Service is fast and friendly .

Nice bartenders!
Oldest operating bar & restaurant in NYC is Fraunces Tavern open in 1762.
White Horse Tavern's founding date of 1673 makes it the clear winner in terms of continuous operation as a restaurant. The building itself predates the restaurant, having been built in 1652 as a private residence. It was converted to a tavern in 1673, making it the oldest continuously operating restaurant in the U.S.
UPDATE; So you're telling me Pete's Tavern location never closed for renovations or had a staff member die causing closer for months; and was purchase in 1899 by Tom and John Healy and became Healy's, and in 1922 or 1926 purchased by Peter D'Belles, and when did Dmf Gramercy Enterprises, Inc. purchase it???
Just want to keep my NYC Historical database to date
Iconic, great menu, well staffed

Cool history - kinda a must see as they claim (with photographic proof) that it's the oldest continuously operating bar in NYC. Food was not good - didn't even eat the burger and I had just finished a 20 mi bike ride, so was hungry. Fries were okay. Service was average, if slightly slow.
