The first time we came here was over 10 years ago and we had such a bad experience, we figured it’s been long enough so let’s give it another shot. Outside of the grumpy old man who greets you at the entrance, who I think is the same one that was there 10 years ago, the service was very pleasant and friendly. The bread is absolutely delicious and the olive oil is good. That’s about it. The Caesar salad is drenched in oil, not even sure what that was. The pizza tasted like...
I enjoyed a late afternoon weekday lunch and appreciated the welcoming host and servers. Caesar with grilled shrimp was good - nicely charred but tender shrimp and a well balanced dressing - croutons were a bit sad, hard small squares of bread and the romaine was fresh but could have been less cut up. They should make croutons from the house bread which is fantastic and a great accompaniment to their excellent minestrone - along with a glass of the dolcetto, a good beginning...
Indescribably delicious and authentic Italian food. This has to be, in my opinion, the best place to eat Italian in New York.

Rarely have we had such delicious food and wine.
Everything is professional and plays to the max, in a very very pleasant calm and subdued manner.

I can give the place my warmest recommendations. Many restaurants will be able to find inspiration here.
