Disrespect. Today was the third time coming to this bagel store where the employees were late and didn’t have the shop open on time. It’s clear that this is a pattern. They seem to not care about the customers time. Never apology for the delay. Never say anything. Today I got there at 7:15 (stated opening is 7am). There was a line of people waiting outside and the lights were out. The store was black. Employees were walking around slowly inside with no sense for urgency. Eventually around 7:30, one of the employees slowly walks to the door and unlocks the lock. Doesn’t say “come on in.” Doesn’t say anything to the 20 people online. No eye contact. Today was unique in that many people were staying in the hotel and were running the NYC marathon and needed to be at a bus by 8am at the ferry. They were stressed. Last night was day light savings time and the employees got an extra hour of sleep. No reason why everyone should be waiting outside. If you can’t open at 7am because the employees can’t get there in time, they should change the hours to be 7:30am. This way people wouldn’t walk over there at 7. We all have our own lives with family and kids and weekends are busy. It’s disrespectful that they can say a word and apologize. These aren’t new employees. It’s the same employees that were there other times it wasn’t open. Just plain disrespect of customers’ time. Unfriendly and rude employees. Positives… bagels are pretty good and the store is clean and bright.

During a group tour of New York City, we had a short lunch break and only had 15 minutes to finish. My friend and I were exploring the area for something to eat, and we ended up at Pick A Bagel.
There were a variety of sandwiches available, but to make the most of our time, we ordered the bagel sandwich with ham from the cold sandwich menu. It was a simple bagel sandwich with ham, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and American cheese, but it was surprisingly tasty, exceeding our expectations.
The staff were friendly, and the sandwich was delicious. Next time I’m in New York, I‘ll definitely be back for another sandwich.

Great selection of freshly made bagels. We had the sesame and everything options. They’re very generous with the cream cheese. If you like your bagels a little more on the toasty side, you will need to ask in advance. They also fresh squeezed OJ.

Nice place with quick service and good food. I ordered a New Yorker Omlette on Sesame Bagel, quite filling and tasted quite nice.

Decided to stop by this place for a quick BEC while I’m SoHo. A lot of places in the overly gentrified parts of the city can never do a bacon egg and cheese or bagel correctly, this place does. The food didn’t take long to come out and they prepared everything rather quick. It was a little pricey but what more could you expect, $20 for a BEC and 2 drinks. You pay for what you get which is a damn good sandwich.

Ample choice in bagels. Can be customised. They make it fresh so there will be slight wait time. Food was good

Daniel Pinkwater said “Bagels can be an enormous power for good or for evil”. Hmm. Well the jury is out at Pick A Bagel. The Everything Bagel was fresh and everything it should have been says my sister. I got a Plain Bagel and it was slightly stale. But it was 4th of July weekend and I don’t think fresh bagels were on their minds. The Diet Cokes (in cans) were atrocious. Just waaaaay off,but that the Coca Cola CO’s fault not Pick a Bagel’s…but it added to the “No thanks” breakfast experience. Place was clean, staff was friendly enough… go see for yourselves is my advice.

$6 for a bagel with cream cheese. Bagel was nothing special Tasteless wound up throwing out the last few bites bc I got bored of chewing it. I know the area is pricey. So I’ll leave this place to the tourists. Only stopped here bc it was between the Fast Ferry and my job. Girl at the counter was very nice though.

I do not eat bagels often, but this was one of the best bagels I ever had! Nice and crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside.

Nice location near the water and convenient to where I work. I will be going back and getting another one later today!
