Meal, very good, and good portions. I ate very well. On the other hand, I, who expected to come to the "land of terranga" (like I know Senegal so well)... Negative staff and atmosphere, unfriendly waiter. Does not offer drinks. Even if it wasn't even a smile..., a hello or a goodbye, it's free. I was uncomfortable. It's a shame.

I left New Jersey to go eat at this restaurant in New York. While I am eating, water left from the ceiling and fell onto my plate and when I wanted to talk to the lady, she didn't want to understand. She was only interested in her money, she was very dishonest. I'm very angry, I paid the told to eat well and no, dirty food. I will try to add the picture

I wish I could give zero stars. I went to this establishment and ordered swee plantains and lamb dibi. Something told me to check my food before leaving but I didn't. When I got home, this was the worst sweet plantain I have ever seen.. I can't believe everyone who works there saw these alloco and decided to serve/sell this to a customer. The plantain itself was spoiled and old. I have attached a picture.. this was my first and last time ever buying here. So disappointed!!
For years, I used to order from here all the time. The service has always been trash. The lady usually at the front desk acts like she's paying you for the food but it's whatever. No big deal. I can put up with it since the food is good and that's all I'm paying for anyway. The owner himself is very hospitable whenever you bump into him.
However, the reason I will never step foot back here again is because they sold me spoiled food. They are clearly selling food that has sat overnight. I bought two rice dishes one evening and sent them straight to the fridge. The next day I pulled it out for lunch and the rice was stinky and slimy. Absolutely disgusting and shameful, and NYC should close this place down. If you need more money, then raise prices. Don't sell spoiled food.

Lovely foray into Senegalese cuisine. The Thiebou Djeun (fish stew) and Thiebou Yapp (lamb dish) were phenomenally plated, generously portioned, and tasted as flavorful as meat and carbs can be. Lively, down to earth atmosphere that’s cozy and feels authentic to the area: you see mostly locals and people who know how to eat good food. Be prepared to take your time and breathe in the good vibes and good company :)
