I enjoyed Ping's for dimsum! We ate on a Sunday morning 11am, and I was suprised for walk ins there were no lines and a good amount of available tables. Note that they don't have carts here - which is for the best because the walking space is narrow in the restaurant. But some people come through with one tray of a certain dish like the steamed char siu baos or egg tarts now and then. But generally the ordering is more a la carte. The service is great here. They are on top of it - taking your orders (especially since it is a la carte ordering) and refilling teas immediately. Make sure to turn over the top of the teapot to indicate you need a refill! My favorites were: Sticky rice, which had a lot of good meat in it including egg yolk, sausage, and juicy ground meat Short ribs - so flavorful Turnip cakes (lo bak go) - had great bites of diced sausage Baked pineapple bun - not only is there custard inside but also some pineapple pieces! Fried dough stick with rice noodle - delish sauce and sprinkle of green onion garnish is a great touch Asian greens with fried shallots (good to have as a green veggie!) Shu mai and har gow, which are my go-tos, are of course delicious but nothing that stood out to me compared to other places I've been to. I would recommend Ping's for dimsum! It was very nice to experience a dim sum dining experience that didn't feel rushed and had attentive service.

The staff was super friendly and the food was good. We had a big group and they had lots of large round tables to accommodate us all.

I won’t say it is a bad Chinese restaurant. Actually it is one of the best Chinese restaurants in NYC, offering some dishes which you cant find somewhere else. But it is just a Chinese restaurant. You can’t compare it with those in China, either for food or for service. Its service is somewhat better than its Chinatown peers, worth perhaps tips of about 10%.

Casual dim sum spot, with many seafood options. Solid har gao and amazing bacon-wrapped shrimp.

Outstanding Cantonese food, both authentic and creative. There were so many intense, concentrated flavors in every dish--it was a real treat! I also really enjoyed their chrysanthemum tea.

Ping's is always a solid choice for dim sum. In all the times I've been there, it's never been super crowded, and the food always comes out pretty quickly.

We had a great time at Ping’s.Ping’s has a limited, but excellent, selection of dimsum as part of their dinner menu.Pork & shrimp shumai was among the best I’ve ever had. Seafood shumai was not bad either. The chicken feet were fall off the bone tender. The steamed roast pork puns were kinda mid, though.Char Siu was excellent, and perhaps ever so slightly too fatty for my taste. Braised beef short ribs were tender, but they came with cilantro :(. The jumbo prawns with walnut & broccoli was a perfect dish for pictures. It was delicious, but I think it would be a difficult dish to mess up.As for poultry, the pigeon dish on the specials menu was exceptional, if pricey; I loved the steamed crystal chicken, but I think I was in the minority. The golden egg fried rice was so crispy, and infinitely better than the stone pot sticky rice. The Japanese tofu and crab meat was probably my favorite, and the Manila clams, with a fishy taste, definitely my least. The prices were fair. It was slightly over $50 (including 20% tip + taxes) per person. Some of the menu items, especially the seafood, were *really* expensive, so if you’re on a budget, pay extra attention to the prices, and definitely don’t just go with whatever they recommend.Service was so good, and speaking Cantonese probably helped.

Pings has been around for years. I haven't been back since before COVID, but it's nice to taste similar and still a reliable spot for dim sum and dishes. The only downside is the portions feel smaller.

Ping’s is a restaurant in Chinatown that serves Hong Kong cuisine and some of the best Chinese comfort food. The place is always busy, so they don't accept reservations for less than 10 people. However, we were lucky to get a table for two without much wait. After serving us warm tea, we started ordering dishes and decided to share the following items – pork and shrimp Shumai, crispy shrimp wrapped in bacon, wonton soup, roast pork barbecue, and seafood and chicken fried rice. We enjoyed every single dish, but we especially loved the fried rice. Our waiter even mixed and served it to us, which was a nice touch and earned him an extra star.If you're looking for a great place to enjoy some favorite Chinese dishes, Ping's is highly recommended. The place is always clean, and the service is fast and efficient. Best of all, you won't have to break the bank to eat there.
