super cool location and great antique vibe, but my room had water damage in the ceiling and flaking plaster off the walls (and onto my business suit and shoes - not good). also, my bathtub drained very slowly - asked to fix it and no one showed up. Old building converted to chic hotel is an uber cool idea, except that it also needs to function in a modern way. otherwise, the staff is lovely and kind, the building and decor is seriously cool 1890 gothic chic, great lighting and grounds.

Stayed for 2 nights, and while it is a bit of an older building, it was still nice to live and sleep in. The checkin staff was very friendly, place stocked with basic hotel amenities (soap, shampoo, conditioner, towels). House keeping replaced my towel and overall very nice experience.

Beware BED BUGS I recently stayed at the high line hotel over labor day weekend for a fun trip with my boyfriend. The morning we came home we discovered bites all over our legs and arms - it was confirmed by a pest company today that we contracted bed bugs from the high line hotel. Since leaving I have been trying to get in touch with staff at the hotel to no avail- have probably called 10+ times. I even emailed the team letting them know of bed bugs in my room given new guests are likely already staying there. Overall was a good stay until this was discovered and clearly there has been little care or follow up since it occurred. I would have expected a lot more from this hotel. Safe to say I'll never stay here again and would recommend you don't either.

I booked a room at the High Line Hotel for my elderly parents, and they (and we) could not have been more delighted. From the unique character of the building and rooms to the friendly staff and the feeling of an inclusive community, not to mention how well pets are treated!, we were utterly charmed and deeply grateful.

Loved this property. Location convenient, lots of restaurants in the area. Great staff, easy check in & check out. Loved the coffee bar and outdoor seating. Room was clean, quiet, and met expectations.

The first room they assigned me had a very foul smell, it seemed that it had not been cleaned for a long time or that there was something wrong internally, the next day they changed my room and it no longer had that smell but the bed really was very bad, it was sunken and didn't really let rest properly

When People Ask When Are You Going Home, I say what are you talking about I am home. As a native I am very picky. Being at the High Line is like being back in NY when I lived there. Love the staff and the neighborhood feeling.

I stayed here with my adult child who was in town on business. The main reason to stay at this hotel is if you have business in the area. While it's quaint and built about 1845 as part of a church, then used as a conference center before it became a hotel. We found the people at the front "desk" very nice and the outdoor areas lovely. Unfortunately, the rooms are small, there is no counter space in the bathrooms other than the top of the toilet and the room isn't very clean...becasue it's quite old. There are great bath sheets but no washcloths and the tv was not easy to use. The closest subway station is two avenues over and three blocks north, so very walkable. You're right next to the High Line, close to Chelsea Market and Pier 57. A few blocks away is Meat Packing and West Village. Personally, I'd rather stay in a lesser location and be more comfortable.

I never post reviews but this hotel was beyond disgusting. It was like staying in a hotel that hadn't been touched in over 100 years - the rooms were musty and I didn't want to even sit on the furniture. The lighting was so dim, it was impossible to put your make up on.

Found this location by chance on a google search. So happy we did. The location was lovely-right on the High Line and blocks from Chelsea Market. The hotel itself was quirky and fun. The room was spacious and clean. Only complaint was the heat in the room however as it was unseasonably warm, the air wasn't turned on yet, so not the fault of the employees. We truly had a great time and would happily stay here again.

RACIST STAFF! A prominent Black artist, Kahlil Robert Irving, who has shown at NY’s Museum of Modern Art & the Whitney Museum of Art & whose work is displayed in acclaimed private collections, filed a complaint with the state Human Rights Division that he was racially profiled during a stay at The High Line Hotel in January. Irving checked into the hotel on Jan 20th. On the 2nd evening of his stay, Irving returned to the hotel around 11 p.m. or midnight & went to bed. Around 7:30 a.m. - 8 a.m., a white male entered the room briefly, asked if everything was ok & left after Irving said yes. About 30-40 mins later, 2 white male employees entered his hotel room w/o knocking & ordered Irving to leave asap, threatened police intervention & accused Irving of being a homeless person who had broken into the room. They ignored the hotel key card sitting in plain sight by the door & didn’t stop until Irving was able to sit up in bed, retrieve his cell to retrieve his hotel reservation online & convince them of this mistake. The hotel offered NO apology for this incident or explanation for this racist treatment.

Ambience is nice but drinks were subpar. Don’t know if it was just that bartender that day but every sip reminded me back of my college days (I’m not taking about a heavy hand either).

Lovely classic atmosphere in the heart of the city! Helpful and friendly staff! Vintage ambience with an outdoor courtyard providing lovely shade and trees…I feel welcome and at home!
