Pioneers is a staple in the city where you can go and catch the game or play some giant board games. While they only have giant jenga and connect four, they also have 1 pool table and a basketball machine. The drinks are fairly priced for something near both MSG and FIT, so be sure to stop in.

Embarking on an adventure to "Pioneers" in New York City, I found myself gathered with a bunch of actors, there to toast a fellow student's birthday. From the moment I crossed its threshold, and the (not-so-happy-looking) security guy, the venue promised an escapade as animated and spirited as the company I was in. Pioneers, a sports/game bar that prides itself on an eccentric blend of amusement and libation, is an enclave of fun in the city's bustling heart. With decor ranging from the whimsy of Alice in Wonderland's rabbits to the notorious charm of Frank Sinatra's mugshot - this is Pioneers. The decor, an eclectic mix of fantasy and reality, sets a stage that encourages guests to shed their external worries and dive headfirst into the carefree revelry that defines the place. The air at Pioneers is thick with anticipation - of the next laugh, the next game, the next impeccably crafted drink. Speaking of libations, they are, quite frankly, a bartender's poetry in motion. Each concoction, a testament to the bartender's mastery, is mixed with a precision that suggests not just skill, but a genuine passion for the craft. It's this dedication to perfection that infuses every sip with an unmistakable sense of joy and abandon. But, be warned: the tranquility of this spirited haven can be abruptly pierced by the clamor of brick Jenga games. The tumbling of each block, reminiscent of a gunshot, serves as a jolting reminder of the world beyond Pioneers' whimsical walls. It's a curious blend of exhilaration and momentary alarm that somehow adds to the venue's unique charm.Pioneers, with its vibrant atmosphere, extraordinary decor, and cocktails crafted to perfection, is more than just a bar; it's a sanctuary for those seeking refuge from the mundane. The sounds of laughter, the clinking of glasses, and even the startling crash of Jenga bricks create a symphony that celebrates life in its most unguarded moments. In essence, Pioneers is not merely a place you visit; it's an experience you live. It's where stories unfold, friendships strengthen, and memories are etched. Whether you're a local or just passing through, whether you come with a band of actors or a group of friends, Pioneers promises an escape into a world where fun reigns supreme. It's a destination I eagerly anticipate returning to, ready to dive back into the carefree jubilation that pulsates through its heart.

This is my second time here and the second time the bartenders just looked at me and my friend waiting to order and then just went back to their obviously very important conversation. This last time thought was special..they ignored us for a minute then decided to play rock paper scissors to decide who would do their job next. Truly insane and horrible service. I've worked in the industry for 6 years and this is by far the laziest staff I've ever come across. Drinks are cheap tho! :)

This place is always closing hours way before the time on the website and on yelp. Tried 4 times and every time the bartenders say they have done last call 2-3hrs before closing time on website.

I can say that the doorman is a total discriminator since I went with friends and go they had only id of the city of NYC and the man was totally derogatory and even asked me on three occasions my id. Otherwise i thought it was a good place until I spent more time and found the people to be obnoxious and rude. A drunk girl started rifling through our things demanding her coat …. The people that work here are very unpleasant and have terribly entitled attitudes. The bartender is short-tempered, sarcastic and sullen.. I don’t recommend this place

The service is always professional and courteous to all customers who go in. I love to go to this range and put in my weekly range time. The ambiance is great and everyone is attentive. I wish this range would be open earlier than 11:00am.

We stayed right next door to the Pioneer at the Doubletree. Of the 4 nights we were in New York we spent some time in the Pioneer Bar almost every night. Cool little bar with great staff. Wasn't too crowded.

I did not try their food, but their variety in drinks is great and the vibe is the best part. Soooo many games to choose from. I spent two nights in a row there for 5 hours straight playing games and having a good time! Shout out to the amazing bartenders ?

Came here early on a saturday night. Drinks were good, songs were all bangers (hats off to the bartender on Aux), and the place was decorated so cool. Eclectic garage decor but looked really nice. They have a lot of games to keep you occupied as you drink up, from giant Jenga, pool, beer pong, basketball. Such a cool spot, i'll be back!!
