We ordered summer rolls, kimchi baos, steamed edamame dumplings, chick’n fried mushrooms, dan dan noodles, matcha cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding. Some were tasty but dumplings and baos were mediocre. Dan Dan noodle was overcooked to me. I liked the ambiance and the happy hour menu, which allowed us to try many snack items. Not sure what the point of having 1 piece per serving is, but found that a little steep - think it was the hand rolls (not pictured), so keep that in mind! Ordered starters for the most part and was disappointed with the volcano roll - it tasted extremely fishy and as someone who hates seafood, just one bite gave me quite the ick and I did not feel like eating any more of it. I just don’t understand why most vegan fare is curated to mimic seafood/meat? Why can’t it just taste like vegetables lol? A lot of people are vegan by birth or vegan just because they don’t like how meat tastes/smells and this doesn’t help. The edamame dumplings were flavorful thought I wish they had like a mushroom-based option as well. Thai rolls (not pictured) were good, especially the peanut sauce!Loveddd the berry compote on the matcha cheesecake! Service was pretty good though our server came across as a little reserved!

When I first starting coming to PLANTA I was obsessed and couldn’t get enough. It was good quality, creative and clean. However my most recent visit to planta was entirely disappointing. The price for the quality is no longer worth it. The nearly $20 sushi roll was poorly made and many pieces of sushi lacked the ingredients inside. It was sloppy work. For the price the quality of the food has significantly degraded. I’m really disappointed this used to be a go to anytime I was eating in the city
This was our second time visiting! Was very excited as we loved our first visit. But the food quality got so down. The sushi were good but, crispy mushroom was very salty. Thousand layer potatoes was our favorite last time and today it was very very oily. After telling the server about this, she said next time let her know before we start eating !!! Mind you, it comes in 4 pieces and my boyfriend had one and two of them were half eaten and fourth one was not touched at all! Overall very disappointed and won’t be coming back.

Decent vegan good. Been here a couple times before and it doesn’t disappoint. We got a bunch of items to share. The truffle fried rice was not as flavorful as I remember, unfortunately. But absolutely worth getting the Torched and Pressed, and Bang Bang Broccoli! Can’t go wrong with Singapore noodles either.

Enjoyed a delicious lunch. Fast service of flavor filled dishes. The layered crispy fried potatoes - goodness through and through. Poke bowl - another tasty combination with a variety of textures in one dish. Got bites of my husband’s orders - a cold Japanese salad and a hot, spicy cauliflower dish; both worth savoring.
Person delivering dishes seemed disengaged or maybe really busy. Dropped off dishes quickly then walked away without making eye contact. Maybe that’s a NYC thing; then five star service.

Heard amazing things about Planta over the years and finally got to try it. Absolutely loved all of the maki rolls, the red dragon was my favorite. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the dan dan noodles. They were incredibly bland and lacked seasoning, not sure if it was just an off day for them. There was faint heat from the szechuan peppercorns and the sauce itself just tasted like plain coconut milk. Korean chick'n sandwich was alright, didn't get any Korean flavors besides a faint gochujang taste in the aioli for the fries. Dessert was delicious. I would go back just for the matcha cheesecake (and red dragon roll). Loved the texture of the banana pudding cake and the caramel was great. Our bill totaled over $200 and we left still feeling like we could eat (something to think of). Service was slow, but again could have been an off night. They calculate their tip on the total price including tax which I disagree with.
Worst service ever. To top it all off, they had the nerve to tag on a 20% tiip to the check. Horrible
I chose this restaurant because the menu listed so many gluten-free options, and I have celiac disease. Unfortunately, when I arrived, the waitress told me to ignore the “GF” labels on the menu and instead gave me a much smaller list of what I could actually eat. Had I known that in advance, I wouldn’t have come. The online menu with “GF” next to items is very misleading. To make it worse, the only dessert option that was safe for me wasn’t even available that night. Service was also very slow. Overall, a disappointing experience
Love the food but service is always hit or miss. Noise level is extremely high. Depends on table you seat, it can get freezing cold.
Absolutely delicious! I tried a few of their makis and other dishes. Would highly recommend! After dinner I had their iced matcha latte and it was delightful!
