I made a reservation for my friend's birthday at Planta Queen because she is vegan and the vibes and food looked really great online. When we arrived early, we were told we had to wait for our entire party to be present because we were waiting for our third guest. That was no problem! When she arrived on time, we went back to the host stand but waited 5 minutes to get to her because it was taking so long for people to get seated. When we finally got to the front, we were escorted to a corner booth that was a two top. They had put a chair at the end and right away we could tell there was not going to be enough room because there was another two top seated right next to this table. I asked if there were any other tables available. The host went back to the front and quickly came to let us know they were fully booked for the evening and that was the only table they had available. I was honestly shocked. They weren't trying to be accommodating at all! I went back up to the front to speak with the manager and he said the same exact thing. He said, " We seat three people at this table all the time." I worked as a host for years and that table was made for two people. They were clearly overbooked and trying to cram as many people into the space as possible. The cherry on top was that they had seated an incomplete party of 4, so we saw three people sitting at a four top. The manager said they were waiting for the fourth guest to arrive and that it was "their bad" they seated the incomplete party. We had to either sit at that small table or leave essentially. I had them cancel our reservation and we headed to Coletta another vegan restaurant. It was incredible! Service and food were amazing! Long story short, management at this restaurant is clearing lacking and all of the employees need to be way more hospitable. Don't waste your time here! There are such better vegan restaurants in the city!

Even on limited time, I make it a priority to visit PLANTA whenever we're in the same city. I walked here from the Empire State Building, and it was bustling on a Saturday evening. I happily sat at the bar. FIRECRACKER ROLL This was on their April exclusive menu. Filled with Japanese sweet potato, avocado, unagi, and topped with gochujang mayo & chili salt. DELICIOUS! It deserves to be a staple menu item. TORCHED AND PRESSED One of my go-to menu items. This roll is so melt-in-your-mouth creamy. I drool every time. I even convinced some girls sitting at the bar to order this roll. BANG BANG BROCCOLI My numero uno go-to dish since I visited the SOBE location a few years ago. Will never not order this. Crunchy. Flavorful. Amazing in every way. As they were leaving, a couple asked me about this dish and I let them each have one floret. They were sold! (Not all PLANTAs have the same dishes, but luckily, two of my favs have been at all the ones I've visited: FL, CA, IL, & NY.) TRUFFLE RICE I tend to avoid the main dishes and stick with starters and sushi, but I wanted to try something different. Unfortunately, I should've followed my instincts. It had a nice flavor to it, but it was dry and the rice was overcooked. Disappointing. There was so much potential with the cumulation of ingredients. As a PLANTA Passport holder who doesn't live near a PLANTA, I was excited to be able to use my birthday reward - a free dessert! But they didn't have my fav available- the giant chocolate chip cookie, so I ended up passing on dessert. Service was great. As busy as he was, he kept my water glass filled. The worst part about my visit is that I rushed out to catch my Uber back to Brooklyn and left my leftovers on the counter. I may have shed a tear about it. Tip: there are outlets and hooks at the bar.

I usually eat mostly meat dishes but this plant-based restaurant exceeded my expectations with its creative and delicious dishes. From hearty salads to flavorful grain bowls, each dish showcased the versatility of plant-based ingredients. The atmosphere was welcoming and environmentally conscious, and the staff was knowledgeable about the menu and dietary preferences. A must-visit for anyone looking to explore the world of plant-based cuisine!

What a spectacular dining experience! I had (way too much): (1) Torched and Pressed - loved it; the truffle comes through very nicely (2) Avocado Lime Tartare - delicate blend of beet + avocado with a hint of lime; perfect combination (3) Dragon Roll - very light sushi roll (4) Bang Bang Broccoli - signature fried tempura broccoli dish with a heavy peanut sauce - one of my favorites (5) Dan Dan Noodles - my favorite dish of the night (6) Matcha Cheesecake - very good (7) Brownie Sundae - what a dessert! I would recommend all of the dishes, and especially the Dan Dan, the Torched and Pressed, and the Brownie Sundae. Enjoy this amazing restaurant! I will certainly be back!

I went here with a coworker for lunch (and later ordered delivery from here) and can't say enough good things. We sat at the bar where our bartender/server was hilarious and helpful. The inside of this location is definitely a more cool/hip vibe, slightly upscale, but no need for more formal wear. We decided to share the Crispy Gyoza, Spicy Tuna Roll and the Torched and Pressed. I had wine and she had a cocktail. Everything was PHENOMENAL. Seriously couldn't even tell it wasn't really fish! Torched and Pressed was a favorite of mine. For delivery, I've tried Unagi Eggplant Nigiri and Ahi Watermelon Nigiri, as well as Cold Sesame Peanut Noodles. Perfection. Everything tastes so fresh and you can tell the chefs have spent a lot of time curating this unique menu. Really cool concept and my vegan friends have shared they love coming here as well. Can't wait to return!

I'm not even vegan and I'm always amazed when eating some of the food here. The torched & pressed sushi and dan dan noodles are my favorite things off the menu. The service the last couple times have been great with refills and bringing out the food. The inside of the restaurant is also well spaced and having a larger party of 5-6 hasn't been a problem with their booth seating.

If you are a plant based eater, this has to be to added to your places to frequent. Extremely well crafted and thought out dishes with great flavors in a chic and upscale location with lots of specials. Came here on a business lunch and the lunch special of a starter, a main, an an included cookie for $28 is a deal you can't pass up in the neighborhood. Started with the blueberry mint iced tea, which was very fresh and not too sweet. My starter was the crab roll. They used hearts of palm seasoned up like crab salad, and it was really delicious with great crunch. I got to try the sushi that had truffle and avocado and that was a stellar bite. I so enjoyed the Singapore so much! It was a big portion, they were so flavorful, and there were so many delicious and satisfying textures. We decided to upgrade the dessert and I went with the matcha cheesecake - wow. Cannot believe how silky, buttery, and delicious this was. Not to earthy with the matcha flavor and great bites of the the compote and cream. I will come back here in a heartbeat for brunch or for a fun date night. Bravo!

I came to Planta Queen with 3 friends and had the opportunity to try multiple dishes! I recommend going with a group of people as this restaurant is meant to be family style so you can try a lot of the menu. The inside of planta queen was decorated beautifully with mood lighting (also great for a date). The service was also amazing and all the food came out surprisingly fast! We started out with 3 drinks and liked all of them! The Lych Please had a sweeter flavor and you could barely taste the alcohol. The Mez-Cal Me Maybe was spicier than expected but it's how I like my mezcal drinks so I was super happy (something to note however) and finally the Herb Your Enthusiasm was a light refreshing drink that was super good for the hot day NYC was having. We then ordered some sushi rolls to share. The Firecracker roll truly blew me away! The flavors were impeccable and I couldn't even tell it wasn't seafood. Usually I feel like vegetarian sushi has a mushy texture to it but this one was brilliant. We then also got the Dragon roll and the Baked crab roll, my vegetarian friends loved these rolls but I personally thought they were good but nothing special. The broccoli in the dragon roll gave it a good crunch but I felt like the baked crab roll could use a little more flavor. We then tried some amazing small plates! I had high expectations for the 1,000 layer crispy potatoes but it personally fell a little flat for me, I thought a sprinkle of flaky salt on top would've made it more dynamic of a dish. We also got the sweet corn dumplings and I loved this dish! Packed with flavor and something unique. We then ended the dinner with the Udon noodles and kimchi egg friend rice. The udon noodles were honestly one of the best dishes I've ever had the truffle sauce was heavenly and the noodles were perfectly cooked. I would come back to this restaurant to genuinely just get this dish again. The Kimchi fried rice was also good for a vegan dish but didn't stand out too much to me, we ended up pouring the udon sauce over the kimchi fried rice for some reason extra flavor. My vegetarian friend was visiting from out of town and we decided to try this place, I eat everything so I normally wouldn't have decided to go here on my own. However I'm super glad that I did and I will be coming back to try the other half of the menu that I wasn't able to!

Just fantastic. I keep going back. Highly recommend the crispy rice and any of the sushi

I was really struck by the friendly servers and remarkable, plant-based food. That said, it's not for older folks--too loud and the crowd is mostly under 40.

always skeptical about vegan food but this one was pretty good. I like the small plate concept as it lets you try different dishes. went for lunch on a weekday and was relatively empty. ambience inside felt intimate and good for a night out. kimchi tofu dish was good- liked the crispy taro chips on top. sushi was very yummy and had a good amount of filling for my taste. favorite dishes were the japanese sweet potato which was completemented with perfect mayo sauce and dan dan dumplings which were decadent and had a great crunch in teh sauce. did not feel lacking in missing out on the meat. left feeling very satisfied with meal. price was a little expensive but that is new york.

I'm not vegan nor vegetarian so friend of mine suggested this place,, I was little worried if I would enjoy the meal. We went with a party of 8 and ordered a lot from the menu and I couldn't pick my favorite! Every dish came out was better than last including dessert! Dan Dan noodle, udon, spicy tuna were some of my favorite as well as brownies, macha cheesecake. Service was very good too. Will definitely go back!

The photos speak for itself. The noodles here are the best and the rolls are pretty good too!! On Mondays rolls are half off but the service is slow because of how packed it is. Could also be because they have an unlimited rolls option that day too. This is definitely the perfect date night restaurant and the ambiance both upstairs and downstairs is very intimate.
