This experience was disappointing at best. We saw our waiter two times, once to order and once for the bill. We got two appetizers and two tacos each. The tacos came about 15 minutes before our appetizers despite us telling the waiter we wanted it spaced out. The tacos were bland and soggy, with the mushroom taco absolutely COATED and dripping oil. The fish taco was undercooked. We got the esquites (corn) and it was the wettest, blandest overcooked corn, with some dry cheese (not traditional) and no flavour. The best part of our meal was the queso dip and it wasn't anything special or unique it just was good in comparison to the other food. Again, no service to be had, bad food. Wouldn't be back.

The food was AMAZING- seriously, try the carne asada taco's. Very flavorful and a lot of different new things/combinations for us to try, aside from the classics of course. Portions were also good (not too big or small). More than affordable, you can get quite a few things and not feel like you've just spent your life savings. Definitely worth a visit!

Tacos were awful. Tiny tacos. Poor quality. The corn tortillas were stale and tasted bad. Brought warm tap water is plastic cups. Waitress brought our drinks to someone else's table and when she circled back they told her they didn't order them and then brought them to us. I would never go here again.

Service was slow. We were overlooked for about twenty minutes after sitting and had to flag a server who did her best for us. Our drinks came out without the modifications requested (no salt), and our appetizer was delivered, followed seconds later by our mains, all piled at a tiny 2 top table that made it tough to manage all the plates (and we ended up not eating much of the appetizer so the mains wouldn't get cold). Still, the food was good with lots of vegetarian options and interesting combinations. I would return for sure, but perhaps not when I had a show to catch as our hour and a half proved insufficient to get us to the show on time.

Our server was friendly and kept our glasses full on a sweltering night in the city. The Baja fish tacos were delicious with hot tempura fish and cool crunchy slaw. The other dish we tried was Beachfire Chicken which was flavorful and perfectly grilled the side dish of Mexican grilled corn was very good. A great pre-show dinner.

Playa Betty's was perfect for us due to its proximity to the Beacon theatre. The plus was the food and service. We enjoyed the cocktails and guacamole (healthy serving!) and the entrees were also delicious. Al in all a great experience and we would all go back again.
