The use of quality, seasonal ingredients added freshness across the various dishes. Service was excellent. Lera took great care of us—attentive, warm, and thoughtful with her recommendations. With its focused menu, quality ingredients, and welcoming service, Portale has earned a spot on my short list of top Italian restaurants in NYC. Looking forward to coming back.

Portale is honestly one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in New York. The food is high quality, the chef really knows what he’s doing, and the atmosphere and service are always great.
It might sound funny, but my favorite thing on the menu is actually a side dish — the mushroom sauté. It’s insanely tasty, full of flavor, and I always get it when I come.
Everything just works together — from the wine list to the interior — and it always feels like a complete experience. I give it a full 10 out of 10.
I’m always happy to come back here. It’s perfect for a date night, dinner with friends, or even a meeting with coworkers. Totally recommend!

Service and food was amazing but I must comment on one host which literally had a frown the entire time and was not pleasant at all. Pretty off putting when all other staff was amazing and so friendly.
What an amazingly prepared meal and an equally wonderful service! Every visit to Manhattan is going to require a visit.

We love Portale and go several times a year. I mean love! Incredible food and service. Lovely people. Great setting. Great cocktails, mocktails and wine. Something you'd probably not think of ordering: their mixed mushroom dish is mindblowing. I enjoy with pasta when I go in. Love it.

What a fabulous night! Portale was on our list but we had never been there before. It is now on our go-to list permanently. The food (appetizers, entrees and desserts) was amazing. Service was perfect and the atmosphere was great. We typically stay in the West Village but not anymore. Portale was so enjoyable.

Great spot but not cheap. I would highly recommend. The food is outstanding...right from the warm homemade foccacia with whipped ricotta to the duck breast which was cooked perfectly....knife cut through like butter. The lobster primi dish was great too.
