We were sorry to hear that this restaurant will be closing in six weeks. We live north of Philadelphia and when we're in New York City, we always try to eat here. We will miss this restaurant very much.
our dinner was over 900 dollars we were a party of 4 adults and 2 kids the cowboy steak was very fatty there was more fat than meet very disappointing bone marrow dish had bread was slather with gravy it should be served with hot toasted bread Caesar salad was wilted and the wedge was served very sloppy
We ordered from the "Restaurant Week" special menu and the food was wonderful. So was the service. The restaurant wasn't very crowded at the time we ate so it was pleasantly quiet. The walnut bread was exceptional. The cheesecake was great and the warm chocolate cake was out of this world! I'm sure we'll be going back. Thank you for such a nice experience.
My server abruptly stopped taking our meal order, stating lots of people to cater to and we must wait, then proceeded to take a meal order from a couple who arrived after us. When the manager came and he was explaining - the tone was irate with no apology. He stepped away and it appears the manager told him to apologize and that's when he came back and I received an irate apology. A customer is a customer, and good service is due to all.
Great service, the food was okay. Maybe I ordered the wrong things. Not amazing for the prices. Was hoping for a view, which is the main reason I went there but did not get seated there as a solo diner.
Bittersweet to see this classic ending its impressive 19-year run later this summer. But even as they wind down, they are going out with style...terrific meal, professional service....a class act all the way. Bravo!
Wonderful evening. The family-style dishes (especially the 36oz Porterhouse) and wine was enjoyed by all of my guests. The Cesar Salad and the Risotto were a marvelous start and the cheesecake was a lovely end to our meal.
Wonderful experience! Food was amazing!!! So sad that it's closing! Service was so smooth and professional. Def going back for a second round!!!
The hamburgers were dry, overcooked and unappetizing. They will be closing on Labor Day and I would think twice before going there.
This is my favorite restaurant in New York City. And, I am a native New Yorker. I've been dining here almost two decades. Extraordinary food, service and ambiance.

This place is closing soon but it will not be missed by me or my wife. Many better steakhouse options out there.
The service was excellent, great staff... attentive and gracious. My meal would have been perfect but for one error that I simply let roll by... the restaurant offers 2 different NY Strips, and the waiter ordered the wrong one... and waiting another 15 to 20 min while they grilled the correct steak, at that point of the evening, wasn't ideal. Everything else ordered was sensational, delicious and fresh. Best. Onion. Rings. Ever.
Bartenders couldn't be bothered. It was slow and they were talking to regulars and didn't want to work. Not nice at all. Table service was fine and food was okay. I think since they announced they're closing (Sept) they've given up trying to be great. It's a shame. I used to love this place.
Ordered the Steak Frittes and while I've previously ALWAYS enjoyed, unfortunately there were several pieces of the steak that were mostly fat. Additionally, the fries were served lukewarm at best. And finally, my order came out after several others who had ordered AFTER ME - including another order of Steak Frittes as well.
The quality is significantly lower. The weight I misrepresented the dish when we ordered but when it was delivered, we just sent it back. One of the manager who walked by confirmed and agreed that it is indeed disappointing.
