Have been before. Food is delicious. Arrived tonight at opening - dining room booked out so advised that could get food at bar. Waited 15 mins - struggled to get bar man’s attention, I was only one at bar. Sadly left as it didn’t feel like I would be able to order. So disappointing as I know had I been seated at table service would be excellent. 3 senior staff hovering around and failed to pick up on my frustration. Don’t recommend unless you have a reservation.

Another great dinner at this best steakhouse fav in NYC. They accommodated special seating request for birthday dinner. Filets perfect. Cakebread cabernet Napa was excellent. Great service always here.

I ordered the Porterhouse, and it was nothing short of exceptional. Perfectly dry-aged, beautifully charred on the outside, and melt-in-your-mouth tender inside. The flavor was deep, rich, and expertly balanced—clearly a cut that's been treated with respect. It's the kind of steak that makes you pause mid-bite just to appreciate it.

Beautiful experience as usual. Chris was very attentive, and the staff as a whole was great. It was great to see Rutilio and Mark on the restaurant's final week. Excellent tasting dishes, the Filet Mignon was perfect, and the Caesar Salad was one of the best we've ever had. The Risotto was tasty as well. Will surely miss Porter House. Cheers to my all-time favorite chef, Michael Lomonaco!

So very sad to see Porter House go. Flew all the way from Atlanta up to New York City just to have dinner one last time. Thank you, Michael and staff for a wonderful time. The sommelier is fantastic.

Kept us waiting at the door for lunch until 10 minutes after 12. Impersonal cold service but the food was OK. Impressive shrimp cocktails, beet salad. Meat was well seared and tasty.

We are very sad that our favorite steak house in New York is closing at the end of the month! No matter when you visited you were never disappointed such a shame that an iconic staple will be no more! Wishing all the team well and until me meet again be well! Cheers

Porter House has always been our “go to” Steak house... we are so incredibly sad to see a fine Restaurant closing due to a changing economy and an “ immature “ attitude of the new diners ... Elegance ,professionalism and loyalty apparently have no bearing on today's dining scene ... we'll all be eating in an Outback Australian restaurant...yuck !

I had a disappointing experience at Porterhouse. The service was incredibly lacking, especially if you're not white or European. It felt like we were invisible, and it took far too long to get any attention. I expected a more welcoming atmosphere, but the treatment made it clear that they practice favoritism. I cannot recommend this place based on my experience.

Heard they were closing on Labor Day, wanted to visit as we had always heard great things. There were some limited options given they are closing soon, but overall it was a very good experience. Sorry to see Porter House go!

Not only are the view, food and service superb -- with Tim and Joao relentlessly patrolling the floor looking for where help is needed -- but there is a warmth to it, a family feeling that is rare. When I eat there, I feel like both a princess and a friend. Two extraordinary things are the marrow bone and the hash browns. All the meat is superb, of course. The wine selection is very good if expensive, and they make a mean drink! It is a tragedy Porter House is closing. One woman I saw last time couldn't stop crying when she heard. Go there for a real treat this week or next!! Heidi F

Ruined my daughter's 17th birthday by blatant racism and treating us like garbage. Bread was cold and stale. Head waiter handed us off to another waiter who was rude and threw table settings down randomly in front of us and did nothing about cleaning the table so that dessert could be had in a dignified manner. The food was very good and the hispanic staff were quite polite though. They also served my child a dessert with alcohol in it but they are closing down in a few days anyways so they won't give a flip. We travel around the world to eat great food and this was perhaps our worst dining experience ever.
