$10 matcha down the drain. Why does your baristas add syrup to my matcha when clearly i do not add it when ordering? And why does your staff give me their attitude when i mention this? Never again.
The coffee and croissant I had were great

Food and drinks are overpriced. A small salad was almost $10. Half of sandwich cost around $7

It was nice and quiet on a rainy Sunday lunchtime in early May. Good selection, great service, clean and seats available. It is a couple of blocks from Grand Central too. It was expensive, with a salad box with chicken, 2 eggs, mango pot, water, dark choc and some dried mango, the meal was about $40. Food prices in USA have climbed since start of 2025. I was in NY in early January and it was not less expensive. Even though this central Manhattan it still smarted.

I stopped by Pret and ordered a cappuccino paired with a chocolate croissant. The cappuccino was smooth with a decent froth, and the croissant had a flaky texture with a fair amount of chocolate inside. It brought back memories of London’s coffee shops, which I always enjoy. As a coffee enthusiast who’s been a Pret regular for years, I found it to be a reliable pick. The seating was comfortable for a quick break. It’s a decent option for a familiar coffee fix.

I have never seen such consumeristic greed such as the epidemic of coffee shops with no outlets. It’s impossible to work from anywhere and Pret is no exception. and on top of it, the coffee is weak and bad and all of the food is overpriced. I was patronizing this establishment to work from.
Not sure why they play the music so loud like youre in a bar or nightclub. Even with noise cancelling headphones, it's loud. People come for meetings, to work etc.. Turn the music down.

It's relatively empty near Grand Central, so it's easy to use.

Pret used to be good and cheap but now $12 gets you a dinky sandwich and dinky soup. And now they want tips and if you don’t give one they just ignore you. Atmosphere feels like people looking for a place to sit. At least the lines are gone!
