Aussie in NYC for two days so far. This by the best coffee I’ve had so far (almond flat white) by a long way. Don’t let their 3.9 stars throw you off. Good coffee!

Hands down the best coffee I have been able to find in NYC! And the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly.
I moved to Australia a couple of years ago (and those who have been there will recognize that their coffee culture is top notch and it’s hard to tolerate coffee elsewhere once you have got used to Aussie coffee standards). This shop is the first one in US which matches that standard!
I really can’t believe the low ratings here.
They got my order wrong and then when I told them they refused to make me the right coffee and insisted I was wrong.

I stopped by Pulley Coffee Bar recently to try their elderberry hibiscus iced tea. The drink is floral… really floral, to the point where it almost overpowers the subtle notes you’d expect from the elderberry and hibiscus.
The flavour itself was okay, but not particularly memorable. It felt more like a novelty than a standout beverage. I appreciate a creative twist, but this one missed the mark for me. While the bar itself has a nice aesthetic and the staff were friendly, the drink itself felt basic and not something I’d rush back for.
Overall, Pulley Coffee Bar is fine for a quick, but if you’re looking for something with depth or a strong flavour profile, this elderberry hibiscus iced tea isn’t it.

Straight forward coffee bar that serves good quality coffee within Chelsea Market.

I don’t normally leave reviews but my experience was very disappointing. Baristas were extremely passive agressive from the jump but got worse as my very simple $7 drink was made incorrectly twice. Wouldn’t recommend solely because of the service. Don’t work in customer facing roles if you hate people.

Horrible service on 11/2 in the afternoon. Messed up order several times and had terrible attitude, especially the main barista.

Hopeless coffee. LB is way too big and cappuccino is way too small. What a waste of a La Marzocco coffee machine.
Excellent iced coffee and croissants I recommend

Server stared at the tip, made a face when I didn't tip enough, and my chai was just milk, the only thing good about it was the ice.

I have been coming to this coffee shop regularly for the past 3 years since working at Google and this last weekend was my last time. The staff is not what it was. Really crabby and tone deaf and oblivious . Came by this weekend to order my usual, and I asked for honey in it. The barista took my order and said he would mention it to the order screen. Got the drink, no honey in it and I watched them make the drink. When I asked the barista who made it if she could add more honey, she snapped at me and said “it’s already there sir” and frowned her face at me. Never been treated so maliciously by them before so not sure what’s changed with the staff’s attitude however I know few great baristas a couple of months ago working there who were such friendly and bright faces. Sad to see them no longer working there because they were always consistent and great and now it’s been going downhill since. Not even worth the time to stop by. You’ll only get rude service, loud conversations and incorrect drinks.

Blatant racial discrimination.
This was one of the most insulting experiences I’ve ever had, and I have photo evidence to prove it. My friend also witnessed everything.
On July 21, I ordered a matcha latte at this café and asked for it to be extra strong — I even paid an additional $2 for it. But what I saw was shocking: they poured most of the matcha into a white male customer’s drink and then dumped the leftover scraps — what looked like residue — into mine.
In the end, the white customer who ordered a regular matcha latte got an extremely strong drink, while I, an Asian woman who paid $9.50, was served an extremely weak one.
When I questioned whether they had actually added extra matcha, the staff wouldn’t even make eye contact and just muttered “yes.” My friend saw this too. There is no other way to describe this than blatant racial discrimination.

I’m deeply disappointed with my recent experience at this coffee shop. My partner and I, both people of color, were clearly next in line when the cashier deliberately skipped us and served multiple white customers who arrived after us. When we calmly pointed this out, she didn’t apologize—instead, she made excuses and dismissed our concerns.
Experiencing this kind of discrimination is hurtful and unacceptable. Every customer deserves to be treated with respect, regardless of their background. I hope the management takes this seriously and implements proper training so no one else has to feel the way we did.

The iced matcha latte price went up $2 from last week so it is now $8! Did a double take in shock. In this environment with no seats? Come on. That’s egregious for a takeaway beverage in a noisy hallway by elevators. Changing coffee shops.

A coffee bar with good coffee. What more do you want?
The only downside is that it's $6 for a latte.
