Rahi stands out as one of the best fine dining Indian restaurants in the city. Highly recommend. Excellent Indian fusion food and drinks. Great ambiance.

I liked the food here. It's not as heavy as more traditional Indian food. The lighter flavors of the food here is really good. Highly recommend banana leaf chicken and lamb chops. The only reason I gave a four star review is that the menu doesn't have many options. As a person who doesn't like vegetarian food (yup) and goat, the options were quite limited.

Stars are less. This place is worth a million stars. The best Indian food I have had in the USA. Everything was just so perfect. Only if I could eat everything that they have on the menu. The Ambience is soothing. Must go if you in NYC.

Great Indian food and awesome service!!! Both the Artichokes, and the “3 mango cod” dishes were outstanding!

Masala fried chicken sandwich is a must try, though it was likely the priciest chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. Still a worthwhile indulgence.

The food here has always been excellent, even before the name and menu change. We dropped in last minute for a light dinner and had a delicious fried chicken sandwich, a glass of limeade, cod in a fabulous sauce and a few slices of naan. $70 plus tip put us at over $85 dollars with tip! Could they have put a single vegetable on the plate? it would have cost them 5 cents. I know prices are going up but I am never going to be able to rationalize 85 dollars for a sandwich and a small piece of fish. I'd rather stay home. No nothing on the side. not smart.

It was easy to get a reservation for the same day on a Thursday evening for a party of four! I guess when it's over 90 degrees out, most people are avoiding going outside at all. They verified that our vaccine cards matched our IDs and then seated us promptly. The restaurant was spacious and very well decorated. Once seated, the hostess alerted us to a 90 min window at our table... We joked about this as we didn't feel like she needed to tell us that as they weren't particularly busy that night. The drinks didn't look particularly pretty, however, I must say they did a wonderful job with the flavors. Some of the best cocktails I've had. Such strong and bold flavors. No ingredient felt out of place or felt missing. For apps, we shared the lamb chops and the artichokes. They were both very tasty. We asked for medium rare but our lamb chops came out rather well done, but they were still a hit! For the entrees, we split the banana leaf, goat curry, and the shrimp. The flavors were all on point! I would've certainly given this place at least a four star, however, out of principle, I can't. We were shocked that the entrees (which were on the more expensive side) with lots of delicious sauce didn't come with any complimentary rice! We paid for nan and we paid 4 dollars extra per tiny bowl of rice..... In short, from one of my friends; "more bread hats, more rice, less money."

I've been trying to come to this place for months and always thing of it too late to get a weekend reservation I can make. I have one of my best friends visiting this weekend so I was determined and was able to make a reservation for an early dinner (5pm). We were running a little late after the Van gogh exhibit and decided to taxi here. The taxi got a flat tire on our way over lol our luck! and so we had to subway the rest of the way over. Thankfully our friends got here a little earlier and waited at the bar with some mango lassi cocktails. They had to wait for the whole party to seat the table and when we got there 20 mins late we finally got seated and were told to order all at once since we had a limited time to have the table. We started with the chicken and the cauliflower appetizer. The chicken was perfectly done and the chutney complimented it well. The cauliflower was straight from my dream with the ideal amount ( A lot) of spice abs beautiful depth of flavor. We got another round of the lassi cocktails with rum and our banana leaf chicken, pumpkin curry, and daal makhni arrived. You don't get rice or naan with any of the dishes and have to order it separately except the banana leaf chicken which has it wrapped in the leaf at the base of the dish. We were very content with the flavors and it was the perfect amount of food for four people that had plans for dessert right afterwards. We walked over to get ice cream afterwards and checked out a cute plant store down the street.

There is a lack of consistency , as confirmed by some of the previous reviews. Our experience was mediocre contrary to the stellar reviews and articles raving about this restaurant. Chicken tikka - served undercooked and when we mentioned it to the chef, the explanation was that "chicken tikka only looks grilled (as in the pictures) if it's cooked outside." Our waitress replaced the dish but unfortunately it was unevenly cooked. They graciously took it off the bill at the end. Three mango cod - overall this dish was okay. The flavors were mild. Presentation was lacking. Artichoke chaat - probably the better of the dishes ordered. There was no pomegranate on the plate although mentioned on the menu. Goat dum biryani - not the fragrant biryani you expect. Underwhelming. The pictures the restaurant posts on yelp are deceiving! The food does NOT look like that, and the taste is worse. Horrible service! The waitress never checked on our table until the end. We were left without clean plates and utensils.

Great Service and fantastic food. We were on vacation in NYC and decided to try this place.I had the Cod with mangoes. It was perfectly cooked and very tasty. My son had the chicken cooked in banana leaves and it was delicious too. It came with rice and he loved it. My husband had the prawns with curry and the curry was one if the tastiest he had had. He was not too crazy about the prawns with the shell on, but it was very good. The waiter was attentive and at the end he brought dessert as a courtesy. We had the pistachio pie which was one of the best pies I have tried. I didn’t know you could make a Pistachio pie! It was a treat. We also had a mango popsicle that tasted like a mango lassy;creamy and sweet. We loved the restaurant.

One of those stunningly good places in the city. Every dish we had was fresh and full of creativity. Cocktails were spicy and creative. Outdoor dining was well spaced.

4/5 stars. Good service and good food and drinks but some what over priced. The options are shareable and that’s what we did and had leftovers but I think there are better Indians restaurants out there for sure. Would definitely visit and try the remaining menu. We had the Prawns, Cauliflower, lamb chops for apps and the chicken, biryani and fish curry for mains. 3 folks split the dishes and had enough for left over so in a sense value for money is there on the portions.

Went on a double date here with friends for dinner and had a great time! This restaurant has been on my list of go-tos for a while, so I was excited to finally eat here. Overall, the food is delicious, and staff is very friendly. We sat indoors and although a bit noisy, the ambience is really warm and welcoming.Pros:- Delicious food- Lovely interior and ambiance- Indoor and outdoor dining availableCons:- Indoor dining was a bit loud- Limited menu- Portion sizes vary - there are some dishes that are pretty large and others that are on the smaller side for the price you’re payingRegarding food/drinks:We started by ordering a few beers and the mango lassi, the chili cheese toast and chicken tikka. For entrees, we got the pumpkin coconut curry, banana leaf chicken, prawn moile, and goat biryani. (Note that the menu is not super expansive and it is pretty limited so I would recommend taking a look before coming here.)Everything tasted amazing and had wonderful flavors, and we were pretty happy with what we ordered. The portion sizes did vary a bit - we found that all of the dishes were around the same size except for the biryani which was HUGE! Unfortunately for my friend, he did not find the biryani spicy at all which was surprising.Would recommend stopping by if you’re looking for a new place to try!

Damn, Rahi is good. Very very good. If you enjoy Indian food, cocktails, and great service - this is your spot. I tried the Chamomile margarita ($17) and it was AMAZING. Often I spend $15+ on cocktails that don't live up, but this one did. It tasted like a complex spicy margarita with notes of tea. We followed up with a great (and reasonably priced) bottle of Cremant. We had the friend cauliflower, artichokes, chili toast, chicken tikka, goat Biryani, chicken in banana leaf, and mango cod. We did the restaurant week deal for some of the items! THE ARTICHOKES. This is one of the most delicious dishes I've ever had. Fried artichokes tossed in a tamarind paste and as close to perfection as food can get. Order this - it's special. Besides that, my favorite was the goat biryani that comes with a side of yogurt (which was needed and perfect). Even if you're not traditionally a goat fan, you will enjoy this. It also comes with a piece of bread fresh baked as a cover to the serving dish. My boyfriend also loved the chicken wrapped in banana leaf as much as I loved the biryani (which is saying something), so don't sleep on that banana leaf chicken. For dessert, we got the kulfi mango ice cream and the pistachio tart. If you have space after your meal, definitely get the tart! After our experience at Rahi I can't wait to try Adda and Dhamaka which are supposed to be even more special!

Menu options were quite limited, however the food & spices were delicious! Good sized portions. Staff was friendly and seating is cozy.
