The cocktails are amazing! In addition to the drinks on the menu, the bar tenders will cater drinks to the flavors and spirits you like. Thank you Ben and Cisco!

They make you wait outside the venue before they even open the door to speak to you once they do expect to wait 15 minutes to come in.Once inside instead of being seated, they move you to a standing bar where they’ll ask you to order drinks. If you politely say that you would like to wait to be seated before ordering every bartender, server, and host will persist in asking you a dozen more times but this time they will be passive-aggressive when asking.Once you’re finally seated at the communal table the servers will have a subtle attitude because you chose not to get a drink until you were seated. The drinks themselves are very well-made and the seating arrangements are quite comfortableIf you don't mind the attitude from the staff or waiting outside for 15 minutes and then inside for 30 minutes to be seated and you don’t mind paying $20+ for a good cocktail this is your place.I will not be returning since there are dozens of speakeasies in Manhattan that have far better service, atmosphere, and cocktails that are just as good.

Great cocktails but after standing outside 10 min even w reservations, waiting 25 for service and another 15 for drinks their rating seems absurd. Dim lighting simply a way to slack on cleaning.

I have been a regular for 3 years and today i showed up, excited to see Sophia but alas she was not there and i was guided to my table in a soulless manner. I will not be back.

Great place, nice location near Midtown, nice atmosphere for a chat with friends (it wasn’t too loud), there is enough space for ~6 people per table, a good choice of cocktails and they are very tasty, the food menu is quite limited

FOCKS PLAYS

Went to dinner across the street, and while my suburban friends were waiting for their ubers, I disappeared down the steps of this unmarked venue, in one of the coolest/shadiest exits I've ever pulled.Tasty drinks. Nice staff. Great prohibition vibes - dark and moody. Clientele wasn't all that interesting that day (including yours truly).

Raines Law Room is a super classy, intimate speakeasy serving up some awesome cocktails. It can get pretty packed so it's smart to make a reservation. If my husband and I stop by on a whim and get a table we always feel so lucky. Even if there's a wait, it's worth it for a spot at our favorite speakeasy.Once inside, you feel like you're back in the 20s. The menu of cocktails is quite extensive, but is broken up by categories so you can easily find the type of drink you're looking for. As expected, Raines is pricey with drinks costing around $19. However, everything I've ordered here has been great, and no matter how busy it is, I've also always had great service. Next to each table is a bell you can ring for your server so you are never without a drink for too long!Raines is a great evening spot when you're looking for a bougie cocktail.

Great cocktail menu in this speakeasy style cocktail bar, I tried the "Whiskey Business" and "Eightfold Path", both of which I greatly enjoyed. They have switches at the table to call over the waiters, which is a nice touch. You can book for certain evenings, although we managed to get the last two-person table late on a Sunday night. The entrance is partially hidden down an undercover staircase - press the doorbell for entry. The cheque came to about $80 for two cocktails each, which I felt was quite reasonable for the quality of drinks, service and atmosphere.

Raines Law Room in Manhattan is like stepping into a secret club from the Roaring Twenties! The entrance, with its hidden doorbell, makes you feel like you're in on something exclusive and cool.As a person of color, hitting up fancy places in the city can sometimes feel iffy, but Raines Law Room was a breath of fresh air. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, which instantly put me at ease.Inside, the place is decked out with comfy seats and moody lighting. The snacks they serve are just the right match for their wine selection ( which is limited, but they have amazing cocktails).Raines Law Room isn't just a bar; it's like time-traveling to a classy, inclusive hangout where you're treated like a VIP. It's an awesome spot in Manhattan that's all about great vibes, good drinks, and making everyone feel at home. Shout out to the host V for good vibes and good energy!!

Jesus Christ. What a disappointment this place was. After 30min waiting for the drinks, they served the worst drinks we ever had - look at the pictures. They put a raspberry with obvious MOLD on our cocktail. And the other cocktail looks like a $5 dorm cocktail with a soggy lychee. And those cocktails cost >$20…:-)The server was borderline rude and not helpful. You have to press a button to request service - nobody reacted to our button for 10min. Being confronted, the server had the audacity to act like this is all good and didn’t know why I complained. The inside room is mainly for big groups and they don’t allow couples to sit there even if it wouldn’t interferes with reservations (?). Instead they seat all couples in the “secret garden” which is ridiculously ugly and uncozy. Really unpleasant feeling there. Another couple who arrived after us just stood up and left after 2 min (we should have done the same)How is this place still open and people give it good reviews? So many things wrong here - I can’t imagine my experience was an exception.

I’ve been here multiple times now and have always enjoyed the drinks and the hospitality. We once spent a friend’s birthday here and the hosts were nice enough to receive a cake from DoorDash, set it up for us and help us celebrate in style.
