Ordered take out & it was absolutely massive but very good
Yuzu Mimosa and Hikari Spritz were refreshing and a good start. Mackerel sushi was great, we also had the Wagyu Tataki, which although was delicious, I doubt that it was Wagyu or at least a high quality one. We had Nabeyaki Udon and the noodles were perfectly chewy and the broth was warm and delicious. Totally recommended. The shrimp tempura was the fluffiest I ever had and I couldn’t get enough of it!
We also tried the Hojicha Panna Cotta and although I enjoyed the bitter-sweet contrast, I have to say it was made from bitter almond blancmange and may not be everyone’s favorite. The service was one of my best experiences and the server was polite, helpful and attentive. The atmosphere is also cozy and friendly.
Broth was too salty
Umai Udon in SoHo area
Kyunan is the best one
Yaki Nasu from appetizer is a much try!! Raku’s udon is very tasty with hearty and satisfying flavored soup. Their noodles are perfectly cooked/made, and i love how they have so many choices to go from with the variety toppings for their udon. Their tempura toppings come in excellent condition where it is super crispy and not oily. Highly recommend making a reservation for the weekend dinner time, and you might get little intimidated as their servers tend to rush you out during the busy night. Very cozy space but enough for little groups to be seated as well.
Good, simple Japanese fair, but I'm not sure the long lines are worth it. If you are nearby and there's no wist, I definitely recommends stopping in.
I really like their Spicy Cucumber and most of their cold noodles. One of the better places for Japanese style cold noodles in the city.
I was so thrilled to finally have the opportunity to try Raku, and it did not disappoint. For appetizers, we ordered the salmon oshizushi and chicken tatsuta-age. The salmon was impressively fresh, while the chicken was decent, I’ve had better. For our main courses, we ordered the gyutama don, gyunan, niku spicy, kani ankake, and nabeyaki, each dish happily exceeded our expectations and left us thoroughly satisfied. To conclude such an amazing meal, we tried the fruit soufflé roll cake, which was light, airy, and filled with fresh fruit—absolutely delightful. We also tried the green tea tiramisu, which was surprisingly pleasant. I’m already looking forward to returning the next time I’m in the area. Do recommend you make a reservation in advance, as the wait can exceed an hour.
Food was ok. Service felt rushed.
love it🤩
One of the best Japanese restaurants in NYC—don’t miss the Wagyu appetizers.

Delicious silky udon. The outdoor seating atmosphere leaves some to be desired - but it's outdoor seating...
The udon and tempura here is delicious!
If you’re looking for delicious udon with an authentic Japanese vibe, I highly recommend this place. The noodles taste like freshly hand-pulled udon, and the rich, flavorful broth really hits the spot. Prices are reasonable, around $20.
Incredible udon noodle texture and chawanmushi
Love their udon. I do not recommend the egg drop noodles one or the crab one, they are too thick. But the beef udon or tempura is amazing.
