Nice calm place in West Village without all the pretentiousness. Although located sub level the place is spacious and well aired, in fact much better than many joints in Manhattan. The ramen was excellent, real tokyo style. Price was fair considering the big portions.Wheelchair accessibility: Not possible. Only stairs.

Magical Miso! The best kept WV secret. Our go to for a cozy time in the winter and they deliver! Yummy

Hidden downstair spot, cute date place. Ramen itself was decent but thicker noodle than others. Nothing wrong and staff was nice, but in a city full of ramen, it doesnt stand out or need to come back

My friend and I decided to check out Misoya around 7:15pm on a Saturday due to the glowing reviews on Google and Yelp. The restaurant is a bit hidden so when you get to the right corner, just go down the stairs, through some doors, and you will find it! I was shocked that we could get seated immediately, and it seemed like we just beat out the rush. The interior is small and simple. We ordered Kome Miso Ramen ($14) and Kome Miso Spicy Vegetarian Ramen ($15). I was very surprised by the price, especially given the location. I am a huge fan of miso ramen, so anything here would probably satisfy me. The highlights of the dish were the chewy noodles and the miso egg! My friend mentioned that the spicy ramen was not as spicy as it could be, so it may not satisfy you if you like a strong kick.Service here was terrific! There were several checkbacks and water refills. The two staff members helping us were so kind and courteous. If you are in the area, warm up with tasty miso ramen at Misoya!

Great ramen spot in WV, tucked in a nook but actually very spacious inside. Ramen and various miso soup bases were all excellent and not too salty!!

Have been a fan of the EV location for a decade and stumbled upon this new spot out in the village. It’s fantastic and a bit more upscale feeling. Love it.

Came to Misoya because unlike most tonkotsu-focused places, they specialize in miso. They have 3 regional varieties of miso: Hokkaido, Kyoto, Nagoya. I got the Goma Tan Tan Ramen because I wanted something spicy and different. The thick dense ramen noodles were paired with a delicate miso broth dotted with chili oil. It took me back to 10+ years ago, getting Sapporo ramen in a tiny Japanese food court in Cambridge MA. You can taste the kansui that keeps the spring in the noodle. I regretted not getting the Kome Spicy Miso because the butter and corn would’ve added a nice silkiness and sweetness. Overall a decent ramen, but I didn’t feel like finishing the entire bowl.Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian miso broth without pork or chicken

I’m not used to put bad reviews (or reviews at all actually) but I really don’t understand the good reviews here and I don’t want people to be fooled by them like we were! The noodle soup has a bad after taste, I couldn’t eat more than a few bites (and it comes from a person who usually finishes her plates). It’s not flavourful at all, it’s just weird.

They have lots of vegetarian ramen options and you can ask which ones can be made vegan. It would be nice to have indication in the menu which ones are without having to ask.
