Benihana remains a great experience of dinner and a show with the addition of Wagyu on the menu now!
I had such a great experience at Benihana in NYC! The food was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly right in front of us. The chef made it so fun and interactive, and the service was amazing from start to finish. Definitely a great spot for a fun night out!
A reservation doesn't mean much as we had to wait 30 minutes for a seat. I feel that since we were a small group of 3, we were seated with a bunch of other small parties away from the actual crowd which made it less fun. The service was slow and I think partially because our seating was secluded. They also forgot my son's steak after everyone was done. There are better hibachi places on the west side. Don't think we will be coming back.
The food was really good and the experience was fun overall. Everything was fresh and flavorful, and the service was great. The only thing is it was super hot inside, but other than that I had a really nice time and would definitely come back.
I love the food, ambience, atmosphere and customer service. I can't wait to go back. This is one of my favorite restaurants for holidays and events.
Had such a fun experience at Benihana! From the moment we sat down, everything felt like dinner and a show. We tried the Wagyu special and it absolutely lived up to the hype — flavorful, tender, and perfectly prepared. The hibachi experience was entertaining as always, with the chef bringing great energy and making the whole table feel included in the performance. The meal was well-rounded too — soup, salad, shrimp appetizer, fried rice, and veggies made it feel like a full experience rather than just a single dish. Service was smooth and attentive throughout the night, drinks came out quickly, and the atmosphere was lively without feeling chaotic. If you're looking for a place that's more than just dinner and turns the night into an experience, this is always a solid choice. Would definitely come back!
Phenomenal value! You get so much food for the price, and the food quality is excellent. The many courses drag out dinner so it doesn't work if you're short on time, but I like how the 5 courses are spaced out - soup, then salad, then rice, then a huge pile of vegetables followed by delicious mushrooms. Then the entrees, chicken, steak or seafood. If everything came at once it would get cold before I could eat it. The ginger sauce is delicious but I don't like the other sauce. It's very noisy, though. I avoid going on weekends because it's unbearable if there are tables full of kids.
This was one of the most energetic, lively, packed-house restaurants I've been to in a long time. Watching the meal being cooked was entertainment in itself—and clearly a huge draw, given how full the place was last night. The food was absolutely delicious, the drink selection was fantastic, and the staff couldn't have been lovelier. Already making plans to go back.
The experience at Benihana was disappointing. While the staff were polite, they were not welcoming, the reservation was not respected despite booking early, and the food was average. Poor ventilation was a serious concern, as my husband experienced an asthma reaction after we returned home.
Service horrible. Was seated almost an hour late due to disorganized front of house. Food is fine. Ordered one bottle of wine we paid for and then the waitress said she would comp us wine since we had to wait so was going to bring us another bottle and if she didn't have ours would bring Josh a cheaper wine, and we ended up being served and charged for a bottle of wine that was more expensive than the one we asked for and she proceeded to not understand or remember that she was going to comp our wine. Never coming back.

I loved the experience! Benihana is amazing! Our waiter Kendal was such a good time and so helpful.
Place was pretty packed, but service was good and food was delicious, only negative this was the mustard sauce was not the same.
Our experience at Benihana's was absolutely amazing it was our anniversary. The chef made our anniversary date night very special . The chef was funny and amazing and asked questions if we had any food or vegetables allergies.. .the service was amazing.. I recommend any one to go there .
My reservation was at 7:30. They texted me at 7:15 to inform me that my table was ready when I went to the hostess . She's telling me they only texted me that to make sure I was there. I never got seated until one hour and 45 minutes later. They need to do better at time management. You cannot have customers waiting for almost over an hour. That is not acceptable. The food was very good that I can give them, but they need to make the table so more spacious. Everyone was touching each other elbows bumping there was no space.
I never leave reviews but went here for my son's birthday last night and it was a terrible experience. We waited 45 minutes (!!) to be seated despite having a reservation. We only got seated because we kept pestering them about having hungry children in tow. Folks working there were overwhelmed because the faulty robot/AI reservation system made too many bookings for the same time. Corporate HQ needs to fix this ASAP! Food was mediocre and expensive and they didn't put on much of a show. Took forever to get the check. Overall not a great place to celebrate anything. Luckily the teenage boys didn't care.
