I have lived in Manhattan most of my life and dine out frequently. Rampoldi is one of the best restaurants in Manhattan and my current favorite. The food is always outstanding, especially the Duck Confit, Vitello Tonnato, and Dover Sole. The ambience is lovely and special and the service is impeccable. I also enjoy the delectable desserts, the house made Gelato, & Lavender glace with pistachios, the Grand Marnier Souffle, and the Tiramisu. The Bar is very beautiful and a relaxing...
My only complaint is that, during a nice, quiet dinner, the host seated four very loud and noisy patrons next to us, despite having many other tables available throughout the restaurant. This inconsiderate gesture was very disruptive to what could have been an enjoyable conversation with my guest.
Exceptionally quiet as there were only 3 tables filled at 7:00 on a Tuesday with nothng happening at Lincoln Center. The renovation of the other half of the old Atlantic Grill is absolutely stunning. The bar is maginicent, the tables are well spaced, and the staff was highy attentative. The menu is very creative and a good mix of Italian and French influences. Everything we had was delicious and both of us had trouble picking dishes as we were interested in many dishes.
