It's in the hotel I stayed at, good food at reasonable prices. Great location.

Was truly disappointed with the food. I went with my boyfriend and a friend. I got the m&m burger medium. The meat was packed way too tight and it caused the burger to be so dry and flavorless, which is shocking as it was supposed to be flambeed in whiskey that I would have thought would have made it juicier. But no it was dry and just bad. It was still slightly pink in the center so can't say it was completely overcooked but definitely not an experience I would want to repeat. My boyfriend very much enjoyed his turkey burger and my friend just had a regular burger that she also said was ok. The sweet potato fries were also cooked too much for how thinly they were cut. I did tell the waiter that I did not enjoy the burger but I know there is really nothing he could do about it. Not like he cooked it.

Had breakfast here a few times as it was attached to our hotel. Nice Omelettes and the oatmeal was good. Coffee was always in short supply though- one cup!

This place is just okay. I’ve eaten here a few times and the food and service are mediocre. It’s surprising to me because I don’t understand how a burger can be mediocre. Save your money and go to Shake Shack.

Small burger place with a bar. Place gets busy at lunch time and happy hour so I would suggest getting reservations. My burger and fries were fine but price was high even for Manhattan. Onion soup wasn't anything to write home about. I had a Coke, cheese burger, fries and onion soup. Bill was $38.00 plus tip. If your just looking for a decent burger I'd go to Shake Shack instead.

A great place as a business traveler. Good food. Consistent. Nice bar. Good atmosphere for a single diner or small group. Definitely recommend the BLT Chicken Ceasar Salad.

We both had the Jamison's burger with the shot. The burger was cooked perfectly. Service was great. My only issue arose after we left. I received an email from OpenTable inquiring why my party was a no show for the reservation. Well, because when we arrived and said we were there for our 6:30, then didn't bother checking. Bottom line - I'll go back to Rare, but next I'm calling in the reservation. I'm done with using OpenTable.

One of the worst meals i ever had in NYC. The fried chicken sandwish tasted like it was made a week ago. A woman at the next table even sent hers back. Service was bad/indifferent. Order was initially incorrect. We hesitated when we saw the “health grade pending” but we honored our reservation. Got home and looked up the inspection. I won't recite the disgusting list of violations noted at the last 3 inspections. Suffice it to say we never would have eaten there if we had known

I came here last night for dinner with two friends and I have to say I was very underwhelmed. Happy hour is only at the bar so we spent our time at a high top table. It has a very cozy atmosphere and they had a great playlist however their happy hour was just horrible. The wine and beer were the same price as regular drinks anywhere else so I'm not sure why they would act like you're getting a deal. For dinner I had the vegetarian meltsation and we split the fry sampler appetizer. The fries were amazing but the sandwich was average. I didn't realize the 'bread' of the sandwich was going to be the fried eggplant as I would have preferred real bread because all of the fried food was too much. I probably wouldn't get it again. Our server was really great and he had no problem splitting the bill. PROS - cozy vibe, great playlist CONS - not a great happy hour, small menu for those with dietary restrictions TIPS- happy hour is only at the bar, to get into the restaurant you have to go through the hotel

Super convenient that this is in the Shelburne, as I was staying there and just didn't feel like going anywhere, but I also didn't feel like having anything delivered. Enter RARE. I would have given 5 stars but the bartender didn't listen to me. I was STARVING so I asked for my side of elote to be brought out first and he just ignored that and brought it with my salmon salad. Had I known I'd just keep waiting, I'd have only ordered the salmon. That being said, the salmon was delicious, and I'd highly recommend. The elote was good, but overpriced, tbh.

Very nice restaurant in Manhattan. They have tasty hamburgers and steaks, as good beers too. The only thing that I didn't like was a light and constant vibration on the floor, that comes from a laundry in the basement. It's not an earthquake, but it shakes.
