I have patronized this place before. It is across from the Gershwin(Wicked) theater which was the reason it was chosen for the first visit. There we 20 of us, we made a reservation and we were accommodated. Almost all of us had different menu items and not a single one of us had a bad meal. The prices were comparable to most other NYC establishments. The restaurant was very clean as were the rest rooms (very important to us ladies). This is not always the case in NYC. For these reasons we chose to enjoy another meal for our broadway trip as we new it was around the corner from this other theater. This was another lovely experience that my group enjoyed. They expressed what a great choice I suggested. If you are in the area for a broadway play or anything else you can't go wrong at McHale's! I will be back again!
Location was perfect for before our show. Food and service were both good. No complaints at all.
Nice staff, good food, great location (across from the Gershwin Theater, where we were headed next to see WICKED). Bonus: we were seated at a window table with a view of the theater and the Stagedoor for the theater!!!
McHale's is right in the heart of the Theatre district, and very convenient for a bite before or after a show. We were seated promptly and our orders taken by friendly staff. We ordered the Dubliner - burger with Irish bacon - and the hot roast beef sandwich. The burger was ordered medium/well and was served barely rare. The roast beef sandwich was well-done. We ate what we could salvage and got the check. Staff is wonderful, food not so much.
The pub was beautiful inside the food and drinks were good. I had the Sheppard pie very little meat and not as favorable as I have had elsewhere.
Staff were attentive and friendly.Nothing was too much trouble. Food was good and atmosphere was great. Definitely recommend!
We were surprised that at 11 am, there was no breakfast/brunch menu (on a Sunday). Also, at least 8 TVs blaring a soccer match! Food was fine but not what we wanted.
Great service, delicious pub lunch. Nothing fancy, but everything was even better than expected. Will definitely return.
Good food right across the street from Gershwin Theatre. Prices are about what you'd expect given the location. Great service. Loud broadcast of Kentucky Derby made me skip dessert.
All in all food was good except corn beef was not cooked properly and a bit skimpy for the money...

Great Champions League viewing experience. Loved the Nachos and wings! Well organized for a large crowd, excellent and friendly service. Thank you!!!
The food was ok. Basic bar food. Really nothing special as far as dining goes, but it was alright. The drinks were great and the service was fine. It was a little hyped up in my opinion.
My fiance and I had a great meal at McHale's before attending our show at Gershwin Theater across the street. Our server was kind and the atmosphere was pleasant. Overall, the food and drinks were delicious. We booked a reservation to be safe, but plenty of tables were available upon our arrival at 5 pm.
This was my first time eating at this establishment. Everything was wonderful. The food was good and everyone's meal was prepared as requested. Our server, Ethan, was new and did an outstanding job.
Great place to eat before seeing Wicked on a Sunday afternoon. The food, service, and location were perfect. We weren't rushed and the atmosphere was very relaxing. Our waiter was wonderful. Would definitely eat here again.
