We were greeted very warmly by the owner and felt very comfortable when going in. My husband has issues walking and they offered the downstairs which was very considerate. We opted to go upstairs which was a good choice. Had a great table in the corner which worked well for us. A great place to go for good food either before or after your show. Our dinners were delish and arrived at the table hot!!! Great experience. You won't be disappointed.

My son recommended this restaurant when he was in New York in July and it was excellent! Food and service was first class. Kind and friendly staff We made a second trip there too before travelling home to Scotland. Need I say more?

We were seated by the door and the bar with several noisy soccer games on TVs. The crowd was into the games and the servers were slightly busy. Everyone was very nice, the meal was good, and we got to the theatre in plenty of time!

This was a great dinner choice for our family of 5. Something there for everyone! Several chose entrees from the specials menu. We especially enjoyed the garlic parmesan wings. McHale's was the ideal pre-show dinner before we walked over to the Gershwin for Wicked! Highly recommend!

Well, unless you are going for “location only” when selecting a restaurant, then that is the only reason to go here. We had tickets to Wicked and the theater is right across the street and after reading the reviews it seemed like a decent place for dinner too. However the food was below average and the waitress was terrible. Took 15 mins before she even came to our table, 20 mins more to get our drinks and one drink (an Irish coffee) took 45 mins and she apologized and took it off our bill after I had to ask her if it was ever coming. The restaurant was not busy at all and yet our service was crazy slow and not friendly at all.

McHales has a party atmosphere and bar scene and seems very fun if you're there with a big group. We were a group of 4 and it was so loud we were shouting to hear each other. The Christmas decorations were awesome but sadly the food was just ok. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and the chicken was dry and seemed microwaved. Service not great- I waited a super long time for a glass of water.

Arrived at 6:45. Ordered appetizer and entrees. By 6:55 ALL THE FOOD had been brought to the table. When I complained our waitress had an attitude and just said “well what do you want me to do about it?” What she should've done is at least apologize. The portions were also small. Very disappointed and I would not go back.

This bar had a nice atmosphere and our initial server was upbeat. The menu had some hearty favourites on it (that's why we chose it) My oh had Shepherds Pie which he thought was great. I had the Arugula Salad but swapped arugula for iceberg and added chicken. Overall the food was acceptable but very bad value really. My dish was a bowl of lettuce with a scattering of the listed ingredients on top, and it came to $20 . The dessert selection was small and while the new york cheesecake was okay, the apple crumble pie was awful - a soggy , sugary mess. We asked for it without cream and it still came, and the cream was canned and warm. The experience was okay overall, but I found it expensive for what was quite basic food.

Day trip to NYC from WDC to see MJ The Musical. Made reservations to accommodate an elderly guest in our group. Staff was most accommodating from the hostess, the server and the individual who brought out the food. We arrived a little ahead of our time; and was seated right away. The server was very helpful with our menu selections. We were full and pleased with our food. Too full for dessert but the dessert choices looked yummy. We made an excellent choice with selecting McHale's!

We enjoyed our dinner before watching Wicked. This place is literally right across the street from the Gershwin Theater. Food was good. Waiter could've been more attentive. I would definitely go back.

We had lunch here before going to MJ. Everything was great. We made a reservation and was running late so we called and they said they would fit us in. Our server was great. I highly recommend and we will be returning when we are in NYC again.

Unfortunately, at the bar, there were some men who were loud and constantly used profanity, including the "F" word. This was a concern because we had a 16-year-old with us. Otherwise, the food was delicious and the service was great.

I haven't been to McHale's since before the pandemic and it was so changed. It used to be a reliable stand-by but it was dirty, there was chewing gum stuck to the wall behind my friend's head, our waitress started a screaming fight with the hostess and had to be publicly admonished by the manager, we were waited on by three different people who couldn't seem to keep on top of things even though the restaurant was less than half full, and the food was awful. I ordered the fish and chips and couldn't take a second bite of the fish because it tasted like there was something wrong with it. I ate a few of the fries because I was really hungry but I certainly wouldn't go back again!

For a simple meal post Broadway, it's perfect for anyone. The service is excellent with very kind and attentive waitstaff. Drinks are excellent, and the food is pubgrub but well done. Bravo, McHale's.

Unfortunately we were running extremely late for our reservation due to traffic issues. Restaurant was very accommodating with my messages of pushing back our reservation time. We were never able to dine here as we would have been late for our next engagement
