Such a cool bakery!! Quirky, fun flavours. Iikeeeee. Massive line that moves kinda fast (11am on Saturday - when they open).

They know how to make cake!! I’ve had two of their corn cakes and they were soooo good. I really liked the midnight banana bread. It’s a treat. Corn bun was alright for me - it felt a bit stale?

I would keep coming back to try their massive rotating selection of cakes, bars, cookies, buns & more.

Finally made it here to try to choco-toffee cookie, only to find that they were out. That was surprising, as we got there hours before closing time, but I guess that’s not really their fault. What was most irritating was that we stood outside in the midday sun for at least 20 minutes before we could get inside and realize that they were out of several item. I wish they’d at least put up a sign so people aren’t wasting their time waiting for items that aren’t there. Since we stood in line, we grabbed a spiced oatmeal cookie, which was overly sweet. There are plenty of good cookie places in NYC - this one is not worth another visit.

BEST BAKERY IVE EVER BEEN TO.

After hearing so many great things about this bakery, I was thoroughly unimpressed. On my first visit, I tried the Matcha Oreo. The matcha flavor was bitter and fishy, indicating that the matcha used was low-quality and/or denatured while baking. The cookie itself was mediocre at best.

I ended up visiting Red Gate again to give it another chance, but unfortunately the cake slice I got tasted like cardboard. I really wanted to like this place, but I guess it’s just not for me.

I have gotten baked goods from here a few times sometimes ordering delivery sometimes picking it up in person. The bakery itself is so cute and i love that all the bakers are right behind the counter and hard at work its so interesting to watch them at work making these delicious goodies. I am absolutely obsessed with the brown butter blondies those are my main reason for going back each time their chocolate toffee cookies are fantastic as well. Also the everything cookie is perfect with some tea. I love how the quality and taste of the baked goods are so consistent. Can't recommend this place enough to all my friends and family.

I’m probably the odd one out but it was just okay - got the midnight banana bread that was kinda one dimensional and honestly way too rich, wished the banana taste came through stronger. strawberry shortcake bar was meh, couldn’t finish both items

super disappointed as I’ve heard great things about this place. maybe I ordered the wrong items?

Actually bbbusssinnn. The corn basil cake is like 12/10 amazing delicious. I am gluten intolerant but glutened myself for this.
The lines are stupid actually. On a Saturday honestly don’t even try.
I went an hour after they opened on a Friday and got the last slice of cake. Like it’s insane. But this stuff isssss good.
I wish they opened earlier. But otherwise no notes. Great food.

It's a little hole in the wall place. I highly recommend their sea salt brownie. It is shockingly good.

Super disappointing chocolate chip cookie. There was no chocolate and maybe a pebble or two of toffee. It looked like a CC cookie that one makes for a child when they ask for one without chocolate. Bakery should know better to serve a cookie like that.

My wife and I squeezed in a visit here, last thing before leaving the country on our visit from the UK. I’m almost struggling to find words to describe how at home one felt walking through the door. Something about the nostalgic smell of fresh baked cookies, or perhaps the knowledge that as an LGBT person you’re welcomed in with open arms.

We chose an abundance of cookies which served as an excellent snack whilst travelling. Whatever you guys do with your Spiced & Iced cookie, just carry on doing it!!!!!

Do yourself a favor and go get a cookie. The choco toffee cookie is perfectly baked; a wee bit crispy around the edges and soft and chewy in the center. The sprinkled salt on top is just right with the sweetness of the chocolate and sugar. YUM.
