Do yourself a favor and go get a cookie. The choco toffee cookie is perfectly baked; a wee bit crispy around the edges and soft and chewy in the center. The sprinkled salt on top is just right with the sweetness of the chocolate and sugar. YUM.
I've heard people talking about the cookies and I was already in Chinatown so I was ready to find out if the hype was worth it. I got the cookie, but the cinnamon roll whispered to me like the green goblin mask. It was $9.50. Now, for the cookie. It was good. I enjoyed it. I let the cinnamon roll marinate so I could eat it later. I ate that thing on the bus ride home, cold, tossed around, and in the dark. Basically ate it like a beast devouring what might be its last meal....
This bakery is absolutely worth a visit and I'll certainly be back to try more.
I like that they offer a special cake flavor every weekend. I tried their rhubarb macaroon cake slice ($10) and it was soooooooo good and not overly sweet. The cake slice was so fresh. I also had the midnight banana bread ($5). And oh my goodness, I was surprised at how moist and rich it was. It's a thick and heavy slice, in the very very best way. Really good quality and value.
