Visited during their Halloween party.
1st, we supposedly reserved a bottle service but when we got there, they had no idea. But a blessing in disguise because there was no space for a bottle service because the area was too small and overcrowded. Not worth it to pay extra for nothing.
2nd, the girl at coat check was rude.
3rd, drinks has very little alcohol in it and not tasty.
4th, again they allowed too many people inside that the place can accommodate. So people will just pay the entrance fee and just give up and leave. So still a win for the place.
5th, it’s not really a club but a restaurant turned into a dance area.

This place isn't a club at all. This place isn't worth the 15 cover just to listen to terrible music and it smells horrible save your money. Left after 15 minutes.

An unpretentious gem! This retro club has an amazing crowd - diverse, inclusive, and full of great energy. Coming from a native New Yorker, It’s the real New York vibe, and we had an incredible time dancing all night. A heads-up: it’s cash-only at the door, but that just adds to the retro charm in the best way. Highly recommend for a fun, laid-back night out!

What a weird place - no line but it still took 20 minutes to check coats. Cash only (please move in to 2024) They charge $450 for table / bottle service but the tables are shoved to the side of a dance floor - they allow more ppl than the place can handle so you actually cannot dance till it empties out - one woman who I can only assume was on drugs had both boobs out flailing around gyrating on a chair- super weird vibes from the crowd. Just bizarre. Wouldn’t ever go back again.
The music WAS great and the bar staff were very nice.

The retro club is a nice place but they need to replace the coat check lady because she is "super nasty"and gives everyone the wrong coat check number!!!
Avoid taking a "coat or jacket", so you don't have to deal with the nasty coat-check woman!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
The lady really doesn't enjoy her job, you can see it all over her "FACE", she was not welcoming at all and has a nasty attitude, tried asking her which was my number and she refused to answer me and told me to pick a number from the multiple coats she had already checked in!!!!!!!!!
I was given the wrong number and had to point out which coat was mine!!!

I come here because it’s the only place my family and I know of that plays old school music, in the tristate area. I recently visited on November 2nd for their second Halloween party. It’s a bit small. Bathrooms are small. It can get very hot inside and I smelled a lot of awful stuff (farts, bad breath, awful colon) ugh. I guess I’m easily grossed out. I come back here for the music. However, the DJ only played one Halloween song, which was thriller by Michael Jackson. They did not play any other Halloween songs! 😡We parked right in front of the club and our car was fine.

Myself and 4 friends chose to celebrate my friend's birthday at Retroclub over the weekend. We researched the choices and decided based on music that this where we wanted to be. We made reservations and got a confirmation email. We arrived to the club, which to be clear IS NOT A CLUB, at our designated time. This is an Italian Restaurant where someone moves the tables, puts up crappy decorations and pretends to be night club. There was security outside to be expected. We watched a group of women get into the club without ID (not okay) and wearing light up crowns. When our group approached, our IDs were checked and my friend was told to remove his hat. He was wearing his usual simple, no logo, baseball cap. He was told to take of his hat by a man wearing a hat which is hypocrisy at its finest. My best friend suffers major medical issues and his head is covered in scars. He never takes off his hat as it is not comfortable for him and this request is a violation of his medical privacy and protection. He tried to explain his situation but was told the place was "old school" and "men can't wear hats." When we made our reservations, at no point were we notified of this dress code or we would have never come. We walked into the space thinking we could talk to manager and explain the medical issue, but were met by another security guy, also wearing a hat! How can you have a policy that your staff doesn't even follow?! Yet another person approached us and it was unclear if he was a manager or not (later we found out it was the DJ - note to all, do not go dancing at a place where the DJ looks like they could be your Grandfather!) This person said, "If we didn't like it we could leave" and we did!

If you are looking for a great dance night with Retro music, go to LPR on Bleecker for their Saturday Gimmie Gimmie Dance Night! This is an actual club where they know how to treat people right! We told the security guard there our story and he gave us free drink tickets and access to a VIP sitting area. This is how you do it! Amazing evening filled with great music! Place was packed!!!

No need to ever consider RetroClub when LPR is actually doing it right!

I was on their Instagram and found the attached photo showing a man in a hat! There is no "old school policy" of no hats on men, they just didn't want my best friend, who is black, to enter the club. I amend my review to say these people are racists! DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR BUISNESS! Go to LPR and have a great time where all are welcome, no matter their skin color or clothing.

Good DJ and groovy vibe. Not great bar service. And they charge 4 dollars for a cup of tap water. Seriously. (That's in addition to 15 dollar cover.) I get times are hard, but this kind of stuff should be illegal.
