Everything here is excellent - from the coffee, which is top notch, to their sandwiches, which are really well made and delicious. The pastries are always fresh and tasty, and staff is really nice and easy to talk to. Highly recommend coming here if you’re in the neighborhood!

So good! Definitely stop by whether you’re local or passing through the area. Coffee is great, including iced/hot, drip/espresso. Service is so helpful and friendly. If you have time, it’s a great place to chill and read the newspaper. I think they keep a copy or two of the day’s NYT for customers to read.
For food, I’ve tried breakfast sandwiches, muffins, and the vegan breakfast bar. All ?
Kid-friendliness: Often see families with strollers passing through. Staff is very accommodating, as well as other customers. This place seems to attract nice folks.

There aren’t many cafés where you can get like regular weekday, breakfast sandwiches, and a cup of coffee. Sullivan Bakery is too expensive. Coffee Project doesn’t have enough food. There’s nowhere to sit at Birch Coffee. Rex is the answer to all shortcomings of other neighborhood cafés. Reasonable prices and a lot of seating with good fast, quality, food, and coffee.

I used to love the espresso drinks here, but recently they’ve been tasting lighter/waterier. Idk if something changed with the bean blend or process, but I hope it can be improved back to how it was!
