The security staff demanded passports and when I showed mine, being Latino, I was refused entry. The bouncers pushed us, saying they don't accept 'our kind of people.' They also denied entry to my Black American friend based on his skin color. It was a blatant display of racism, xenophobia, prejudice, and aggression. Truly a stark contrast to other places in New York.

The Ritz is a whole vibe. Been here so many times and each time is unique. The drinks may leave some of the heavier drinkers wanting more but with the music , atmosphere a solid 10/10 who cares. Also big juju vibes for someone I know losing their purse and the ppl there gave it to the DJ and I found it.

This place has taken a massive turn downhill. It’s empty on a late Friday night for a reason. The doormen are rude and classless, the bartenders consider it a privilege for you to be there, don’t waste your time at this place. There are so many other great gay bars in nyc. Anywhere else is better.
I went there “by chance” and was pleasantly surprised.The music was really nice and there was a great atmosphere.I will go back there ;)

On Monday Christmas night we went and had a really great time and the bartender was super nice. Since we had a good time we went back yesterday, unfortunately, we had such a bad experience.The bartender was so full of himself, and was socially awkward. Made us feel uncomfortable from the moment we asked for a drink. He was such a buzz kill ? Ritz needs to find a better bartender for Wednesday nights, this was the buff gentleman serving drinks last night.
