I love everything about Rosa Mexicano EXCEPT the ear shattering/damaging cranked up noise level of the music. It proved to be a deafening experience - WHY do restaurants insist on this insanity?? Alas, I will NEVER EVER return there until there a guarantee the noise level will not be a threat to my well being.

I reserve my table early, knowing that it might get busy in 2 hours. I had family visiting me from Canada for the first time, & also their first time at Rosa Mexicano. They loved the food & were amazed @ the size of the restaurant. I did not even know about special on taco's, so that was a pleasant surprise. Another good experience, was that we were not rushed to leave, because it did get busier in the evening, therefore we were able to enjoy our meal & the special occasion. So thank you for the wonderful service.

Mixed bag Seems the waiter just wanted to make his money and get the food over with 1 guacamole and chips very good 2. Ordered chopped salad delicious. We specifically said to bring it before main course. Was brought along with pork dish sometime with no utensils to serve the salad. 3 pork dish, meat was dry, the 4 sauces were horrible. Either really spicy or just bad. 4. My friend specially asked for 3 enchillafs. You can pick thre different tacos from the menu. It was very clear what she said. The waiter, without clarifying, gave each of us a complete enchilada meal of 2 each, $30 extra per meal. Not what we ordered!! Not worth complaining as the food was so screwed up. I was disappointed and do t think we are returning

The food is always excellent here - we had the table side guac, fundido, tacos, and mexican corn. They brought chips and salsa to the table very quickly, but then we waited about 20 mins to order a drink. We were there at 6pm on Thurs, but it did get crowded and loud pretty quickly. I preferred the traditional margarita to the pomegranate version.

A bad experince, which was surprising, as I have enjoyed my previous visits to Rosa. Service was abysmal. Food was haphazard, dishes were missing basic components (no tortillas for the guacamole). Drinks undelivered for 40 mintes despite multiple asks. Had to tackle a waiter for the check. An overall terrible experince.

Food was good overall. The spice levels should have a very spicy category so that if you like a lot of spice then more hot peppers can be added . Right now there is a spicy category for guacamole but the peppers used are not that spicy . The Red Chile chicken is also not that spicy .

My friends and I loved everything except the service and the guacamole. I have been there before and the guacamole was delicious. Last night it was tasteless. A lot of extra salt and extra jalapeños. My friend also had a mango margarita she didn't like it no mango flavor. So she ordered a strawberry margarita. It was a little better. The waiter was not to be found we had to ask the manager for the bill. I was excited to bring my friends to a new place but I'm not sure if they will want to come back.

It was all OK - just nothing spectacular - I asked for mild, but the food ended up bland - too noisy for me, but I should have remembered the acoustics in that space haven't changed since it was America. I think I like the Uptown location better - this one feels more like a bar.

I've been coming to the Union Square outpost for 20 years. Always friendly, always filling and great wait staff. Many have been here for a dozen years. Other than the food, I like that they don't push you out quickly. Was having an important conversation and I didn't feel that typical push that some restaurants do at the 1.15 mark. It was a Wednesday and they restaurant is always busy. That's what keeps me coming back. Great service!

We've eaten at this restaurant for years, usually near Lincoln Center, and have always found the food, service and ambience enjoyable. I did find the food at the 18th St location needing a bit more spices and the sound was a bit overwhelming. The service was great. I would recommend this place but will rather the Lincoln Center spot.

The food was tasty, however, don't go here if you are on a time crunch. The service is very slow and waiters were changed often and seemed like there was no communication amongst the staff.

Food was very very good but the service was not good.... Took way too long to order, took long to get a refill of water to the table, one plate was cold by the time it came out, and waited a very long time to get the check. So although the food and atmosphere very nice .... The service was poor.

We arrive for our reservation 15 minutes early, told to sit at the bar until. We sit at bar, we are ignored. No one says hello, ask to take our drunks orders, give menus, nothing. We sit there for 11 minutes. The bar is not busy, two other couples are there eating & drinking. Finally someone comes. No greeting just place menus & walk away. Four minutes later, I ask about a drunk. Bartender answers rudely & shows she could care less. Pours our drinks, glasses are dirty & drink is spilling over. Counter is sticky and wet. We return our drinks and ask for another. Attitude for days and served the same way the second time. I'm ready to leave but we hang in there and get seated for dinner. There is an extremely small table, no room for much. Waiter is rude as well, not accommodating at all. Barely speaks, put menu down walks away. I can keep going but you can tell how this ends. The service was terrible, drinks bad, food was okay. Overall, I will never come to this location or restaurant again. The staff is horrible. They need better training and customer service skills. Don't recommend this restaurant.

My wife & I had the Valentine's Day special dinner. We shared the Ceviche & we both 10oz steak. We ordered it medium rare but it arrived well done. I think we the runner may have delivered the wrong order as the table next to us had exactly the same thing & had been getting there food before us. In any event our wonderful waiter brought us a 2 new entrees & they were perfect & delicious. We loved the spicy Guacamole too. Everything was really great. Looking forward to coming back.
