Feels like a neighborhood place with a five star kitchen. Not a straightforward sushi resto and that’s a good thing, here. Order any and everything. The fish is high quality and prep is outstanding. You take time to savor the complexity. Excellent wine and saki pairings. And best of all, chef’s kiss 😘👩🍳 for considering solo diners: several menu items are offered as half portions. Attentive staff. Intimate setting with great energy. Moving straight to top of the list.

From start to finish, our experience at Rosella was absolutely phenomenal. James was an incredible host and an exceptional food guide, warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what he does.
We put our full trust in him and let him curate our entire meal, and it was hands-down the best decision we could’ve made. Every dish that came out was thoughtfully chosen, beautifully presented, and completely delicious. Not a single miss, each course somehow topped the last.
The level of care, creativity, and flavor in every bite made this a truly memorable dining experience. If you’re on the fence, don’t be, just go, and let the team guide you.
Will 100% be back.

Our favorite sushi place and maybe restaurant in NY 🤔. We had high expectations and they were delivered. The service was good, they had good recommendations except that they told us not to repeat and now we want to go again to eat their tuna hand roll. Our ranking was: 1. Tuna hand roll 2. Bagel on Hudson 3. Ceviche 4. Miso Carrot Cake 5. Fish slider 6. Nigiri’s 7. Spicy tuna toll 8. Coconut ice cream 9.Salmon avocado rolls

Terrible dinner experience. Waitress was massively unresponsive. Took 45 minutes just to receive drinks that we ordered. Food was average nothing that stands out. Highly recommend avoiding this establishment at all costs. Hostess contained a nasty attitude all throughout.

Shout-out and thanks to Jeffrey and everyone at Rosella NYC—brilliantly distinctive cuisine matched with a refreshingly relaxed, irreverent ambiance. A rare balance done right. Don’t miss the steelhead trout nigiri. Looking forward to visiting Bar Miller as well.

I was wowed by Rosella the second I walked in the door. The music was great, the host was incredibly friendly, and the menu was intriguing (don't miss out on the fish sausage slider). We sat at the bar and it was a real treat to get to watch the chefs work their magic right in front of us.
Shoutout to our server Michael who helped us with our menu picks. The 5-piece nigiri was delicious and fresh and I haven't stopped thinking about the smoked steelhead trout. I can't wait to come back! And a major thank you to the Rosella team for making me feel so special as I celebrated my birthday!

I was really looking forward to coming here after hearing great reviews regarding the food and service. The food was fresh but nothing stood out for us. The service is where I was most disappointed. Our server showed very little interest in us, and at times was dismissive. We asked for recommendations and were barely given any. Towards the end of our meal, we were told another reservation was coming in 15 minutes, so we respectfully got ready to wrap up our dinner. The server then immediately started clearing our plates that still had food on them without asking if we were done. Even though we spend over $200 for two of us, it seems as if we were not spending enough so didn’t get as good of service as others. It also didn’t help that we were seated right by the door on a super cold night so every time the door opened it was quite unpleasant. Unfortunately won’t be returning.

Great experience. The food is prepared in front of you and is delicious. The happy hour specials are a steal. The spicy apple dish, great starter is a half portion size on the HH menu but still worth it so other dishes can be tried. Miso soup was delicious. Grits were great. Tuna hand roll solid. 5 piece nigiri delicious and fresh. Fish sausage slider interesting. Dessert, something usually skipped, was the miso carrot cake, which wasn’t too sweet and very well done.
